Sad Waltz

A piece I wrote in the fall of 1987.  It's got Japanese, Tibetan and Javanese influences along with some 12 tone stuff.  Four movements:
I. Prelude about some leaves 
II.  Fog and clearing in the woods
III.  Birds in the rain
IV. Recitative and Aria about rain in late October

Borboleta Azul (Blue Butterfly) is a fun tune that moves back and forth between baião and samba styles. The first draft of this piece, from 2013 or so, was inspired by a drawing by my cousin Nick Howard, but reached its final form after some revisions and an added intro and outro. This song will be on my album Florescer, to be released this October!
