Mark Tarmonea ist DJ, Live-Act, Produzent, Multiinstrumentalist und Labelgründer – und vor allem jemand, der Musik als Berufung versteht. Geboren in Sibiu, Rumänien, aufgewachsen in Deutschland, fand er früh zur Musik, lernte Keyboard, Gitarre, Bass und Schlagzeug. Heute bewegt er sich zwischen House und Techno, kombiniert analoge Synths, Drum Machines und Live-Vocals zu emotionalen, druckvollen Tracks. Releases wie Stay, Darkness Falls oder seine Zusammenarbeit mit Rauschhaus zeigen seine Handschrift: melodiös, kraftvoll, tief. Remixe von Künstlern wie Ae:ther, Hernán Cattáneo oder Korolova bestätigen seinen Stellenwert in der Szene. Mit seinen Labels Bull In A China Shop, Eye And Eye und Elysion Recordings gibt er auch anderen Artists eine Plattform. Live erlebt man ihn auf Festivals wie SonneMondSterne oder in Clubs wie Ritter Butzke.

Für Jeden Tag ein Set hat der aufstrebende Künstler nun einen neuen Podcast zusammengestellt, aufgenommen im bekannten Club Bahnwärter Thiel in München. Viel Spaß mit Mark Tarmonea!

In the Beginning There Was Techno – by Tornadotoni

This set was recorded for the Techno-Sekretariat — episode #10 on YouTube — with Techno as the main theme.
It reflects my own definition of Techno — the way I experienced it in the early ’90s.

Back then, Techno could be very fast, and also warm, emotional, and full of depth.
I remember it as something that carried energy and soul at the same time — an umbrella for many electronic styles that were just emerging and constantly evolving.

In the early ’90s, there were usually three floors: a Techno floor, a House floor, and a Chill-out room with Ambient DJs.
On the Techno floor, you’d hear everything — Progressive House, Acid, Trance, Breakbeat, Detroit Techno and many more — all mixed together. It wasn’t about the big drop yet; it was a journey, one where you never knew exactly where you’d end up.

That sense of exploration still fascinates me today. I love sets that take you by the hand and lead you somewhere unexpected — and that’s what I try to keep alive in my own way.

I get bored with sets that feel predictable — like films where you already know the ending. That’s why this mix includes moments that surprise, wake you up, or take you somewhere different. That’s my signature: I play eclectically, following emotion rather than formula.

For me, Techno is something that shaped my life — it took me around the world, connected me with a community, and gave me that unique sense of freedom. Without Techno, I probably wouldn’t even live in Berlin.

So yes — in the beginning there was Techno. At least for me.

Finally sharing my Sisyphos set from that unforgettable morning. This weekend was a special one, played Dampfer 8–11am, then went straight to Poland for my Mystic Creatures sunset set. You’ve heard the sunset… now here’s the sunrise.

Surrounded by that hypnotic morning energy, I played a mix of my latest productions, a few unreleased bits, and some favourites of the moment.

Massive love to everyone who danced with me and made it what it was, and thank you @sisyphos-berlin for the magic. Can’t wait to do it again soon.

Tom Schön turned his records since 1999 not only in some local clubs such as Frankfurt the U60311 or the COCOON - he already played in cities such as Berlin and Cologne. He played also in european cities Ibiza, Fuerteventura, Montenegro, Romania, Swizz, Austria and Belgium.

He has already played together with international artists such as Jay Lumen, Bart Skills, Dapayk, Sascha Braemer, Ron Flatter, Nicole Moudaber, Carl Cox, Ricardo Villalobos, Mark Fanciulli, Onno, Oxia, Phillip Bader, Dosem, Coyu, Hollen, Ramiro Lopez, Stephan Bodzin, Dusty Kid, Wade, D-Nox, Teenage Mutants, Moonwalk, Channel X, Uto Karem, Andre Galluzzi, Tyree Cooper and many more and charmed his audience.

He played sounds from Progressive House to Melodic and Techno.

Tom Schön has in his career already released on labels such as Aviary Rec., Amber Rec., Dear Deer Music, Rezongar Music, Sinedie, Circle Music, Mad Hatter, Jaw Dropping, BluFin, Praxxis, Soundso Rec., Sickness, Toxic Family, Fassade Rec., Affin, Soap Rec., Delikt-Music, DSR Digital, Global Echoes, Abiesa Rec., Glovel Deep, nuOn Music, Royal Plastic, Pure Pure Rec., Technocracy Rec., Koyo Rec., and many more. But least on his own label audioVENE which starts 2016.

After 10 years as resident dj at the legendary U60311, he has his homebase since 2013 at  the club Tanzhaus West in Frankfurt at the series COLOURS.

Since 2013, Tom work with his longtime colleague Richard Sturm together to a new collaboration. Under the name SCHÖN & STURM, they publish many tracks and remixes.
