This three track EP was Recorded at Crosstown Soundstudios in Preston, Melbourne. The band was recorded live, then guitars doubled and the vocals overdubbed.

The EP was mixed and mastered at my studio, which was at the time in Hawthorn. Hardware emulation plugs were used in the mix, most notably the Slate Digital 'Virtual Tape Machine' which plays a huge part in the sound of the EP. Also used was Waves NLS plug, with all channels using the SSL 4000G emulation.

Mastering the EP became a lengthy process of experimentation, reference to many existing materials and a variety of tools and software. Indeed, the challenge was rewarding.

These are sample tracks of the six-song EP by Melbourne punk rock trio, Poison Fish.

'Spite' was recorded at the RMIT University Studio in Carlton, Melbourne, early 2013. Two other songs were recorded during these sessions. These appear on the complete EP. 

'Beauty With A Pitchfork' is one of three songs recorded at Bakehouse Studios, North Fitzroy. 

Unlike the three RMIT tracks, 'Beauty With A Pitchfork' was tracked live as a complete band, excepting overdubbed vocals. A total of three songs were recorded at Bakehouse over a period of two full days.

All six songs were mixed and mastered at my home studio using a hybrid rig - Allen & Heath GS3 console, outboard effects and dynamic control - signals running in and out of Pro Tools 9, which was hosting a selection of plug ins.

This is a four track EP by The General, a Melbourne rock three piece. Bronwyn Layla sings and plays guitar, Michael Macfie on bass and backup vocals and Jade Rockliff on drums. Their Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/salute.the.general

The four songs were recorded at Bakehouse Studios, North Fitzroy, Melbourne. 

The first day was spent tracking both the drums and the bass guitar, the second day all other guitars and vocals. 

Recorded into Pro Tools through a Toft console, Urie LA-4s, a DBX 160 compressor and Sebatron and SSL mic pres. The sessions were then mixed at my home studio over the following weeks.
