Israeli producer Nenor delivers a 4-tracker of impeccably produced dancefloor weapons for his second outing on Razor-N-Tape. Since releasing on Moodyman’s legendary Mahogani label a few years back and as part of duo Rabo & Snob, Nenor has been honing his craft in the studio, and now puts his skills on full display on an EP that ranges from the poppy disco house of “How Can I Be Free” to the deep Larry Heard-esque textures of “Do You Remember,” and the gritty underground bangers of  the title track and “Work That.”  He did indeed take his time on this beautifully crafted record, and the result is something quite special.

Toy Tonics Jam Hits is a new format where Toy Tonics puts together some of the most successful tracks played at their Jam parties. These are taking place every weekend around Europe, in some of the best clubs and at Toy Tonics regular jam places like Panorama Bar Berlin, Phonox London or Alacazar in Rome. Toy Tonics is doing these parties 2-4 times every weekend. It's a big thing now. 

This second part features COEO with their evergreen song „Native Riddim“. This song is almost a club classic. Played by everybody from Moodymann to Gerd Janon, Peggy Gou to Dan Shake. The extended version has 8 million plays on Spotify already.

Toy Tonics’ brand-new artist ‘GUINNY’ will be dropping her debut EP this summer. The blue-haired, 24-year-old Londoner is not just a DJ & Producer, but also a soul Singer and multi-instrumentalist, playing violin, guitar & piano! She packs her DJ sets with raw, intense, euphoric energy. 

Much like her music selection on the decks, GUINNY also makes music that spans across many different styles. Bottom line: she makes dance music with soul, with her ethos being “dance music that sounds like it’s come from humans, not just machines”.

While vocally she has been compared to the likes of Roisin Murphy and Jorja Smith, her innovative use of vocal layering and production techniques, somewhat evocative of the early days of James Blake, gives GUINNY’s tracks an exciting new edge dimension. Toy Tonics head honcho Kapote teamed up with the label’s Italian disco king Sam Ruffillo to make a Latin House EP for the summer. Three tracks that fit great with the new wave of latino beats invading the house dance floors this summer. The short versions of these songs might work well on radios, but the long versions are pure DJ and dancer’s fun. The two guys are probably Toy Tonics main DJ duo now. They have been DJing every weekend of the last year in some of the best clubs in Europe. They are residents at Panorama Bar Berlin now and have been invited to share the same stage as Kaytranda and Jessie Ware at Sonar Festival 2024. And they have the right music for this summer. Latin House!

After years of dominance of Afro House, the grooves of South America seem to become the new thing in many DJs sets. The influences from Salsa, Boogaloo and other tropical elements, the hard Latin piano riffs connected with cowbells and a lot of conga grooves were already there last summer. But now it's the time they take over many dance floors. 

On this EP Sam Ruffillo and Kapote played all instruments themself. No samples. Instead pianos, basses, percussion, and guitars were played by the guys. Vocals also performed by the boys. This stuff is made to sing along. The rhythms and the chords catch you immediately. The melodies make you join the „band“. 

People who know Toy Tonics and the guys well, know that the both come from „real“ music-making. The guys have been playing in bands, doing jazz and funk music, before becoming dance producers and DJs. And now they combine all these skills and turn it into musically super catchy dance tracks. 

Latin house is a thing now. And Sam & Kapote have the grooves for it.

Toy Tonics comes up with a new house record by producer, DJ, vinyl digger FIMIANI aka BPlan from Napoli/Italia. This is a perfect combination of everything that forms the basis of real HOUSE music: Afro, Italo, Latin and Soul. 3 killer tracks for the disco dance floors. Including the party anthem, DISCO MUSIC that has been played by Toy Tonics DJ since one year at every label party with amazing results. This is a HIT! Besides this the new EP also includes Cic Ciac: one amazing latin house song with vocals performed in Neapolitan that could also work well on the radio, and Drums from the Motherland, an Afro disco track that connects perfect disco and neo soul house vibes. All recorded with real musicians (no samples). 

FIMIANI’s new EP is a follow-up to his debut on Toy Tonics called  "Amore Latino" EP. He makes house tracks that remind the early 1990ies New York house-sound of Masters at Work, François Kevorkian or Frankie Knuckles. Based on rolling funk grooves using a lot of jazzy piano chords, organs, real bass players and horns. Besides doing his own tracks on Toy Tonics, he also does edits of rare Italian disco tracks for 3 years under his own imprint, Caffè Corretto under the name BPLAN.

FIMIANI who comes from the region of Napoli, (the island called Ischia), is not only an edit maestro and skilled producer, but knows the history and is deeply inspired by the Italian house scene from the mid 1980ies/ 1990ies.
People who know the history of dance music will be aware that the house is an Italo-American "invention". Italians not only created the music called Italo disco, that was the big inspiration for many (American) dance music producers of the 1980ies and 90ies. The Italians also created the blueprint for, that was later to become house music.

House is an Italo-American affair, and Fimiani is a late example of this perfect union. And Fimani is a perfect example how to connect all the basic inspiration of real house music: Italo, Afro, Latin and Disco.

Short info: 
Circus Company and The Mole have long been making eyes at each other across the same crowded dancefloor. Colin de la Plante’s primary project is synonymous with the off-kilter corner of house music we like to spend our time dancing in, and the labels he releases on are close cousins of the Circus troupe. From Wagon Repair to Philpot, Musique Risquee to Perlon, it’s a wonder that we haven’t worked together previously, but finally that’s been put right with Little Sunshine.

Stripped back, understated disco grooves have always been the bread and butter of The Mole’s sound, while infectious, cyclical melodic patterns are equally important in making his unique version of house music. On the title track, those elements are presented with full force, but in between the driving rhythms linger the most gorgeous keys, bringing a mellow introspection to the track as a neat counterpoint to the energy of the drums and arpeggios.

Compared to the clean lines and peppy tempo of “Little Sunshine”, “Discotheque Airplane” is an audacious swerve into low and slow territory, where dusty samples rule the day and the bass swells in and out of earshot with a truly mesmerizing effect. It’s a moody affair loaded with tension, mystery and funk in abundance.

As if that wasn’t enough proof of the variety in The Mole’s repertoire, on his collaboration with Dutch hero Tom Trago for “Down The Hallway” we find the pair exploring lean, focused techno, where the simplest of rhythms propel a haunting, distant vocal lick. It’s the drum sounds that make this a special cut, championing warm, natural percussion instead of the methodical drum machine hits found in most contemporary techno.

Rounding the EP off in a beautifully mysterious style is Aardvarck, whose remix of “Down The Hallway” takes the subtle foundations of the original and builds delicate, lilting melodies on top. With creative distortion and masterful layering of the many synth parts, it’s a captivating, emotionally-loaded slice of inward-looking music that adds to the intriguing, alternative vision of dance music proposed on every track of this 12”.

Tom Trago – one of the leading lights of the Dutch electronic music underground, who defined the house and electronica sound of Amsterdam like few others. He is a globe-trotting DJ, producer, live performer and label owner who enjoys nothing more than championing both overlooked gems and fresh sounds from his own country.
