Here is my mix for Bicep's FMB Mixtape series. The whole thing takes place within a range of 130 – 140 BPM and is dancefloor focused. I wanted to keep it cohesive and go energetic/heavier in parts. Plenty of unreleased tunes from me and my friends, and also lots of bassy four-to-the-floor bits that I’m playing atm alongside some older music and a tinge of techno stuff. I’m a huge fan of this band, and of Michelle Zauner as a musician, and author, so I’ve had this one on my list to make, was just waiting for the right musical idea to arise first. I remember I made the drums on the train to Manchester in November or something, and initially it was just going to be some rolling minimal thing, then when I returned home I recorded in the bass and it fully changed the direction, now it’s kinda an anthem.

Siglo X is a kaleidoscopic mess of jumbled synths and sound design tied together with pounding club drums. My approach was to aim for something super bright and melodic, the sonic equivalent of glitter, and then place it back on the dancefloor so I can play it in my sets.

I'm using this as a way to share my tracks that are more hard hitting/anthemic, and geared towards the club. 

I've been testing these all over in shows for the last year, and they had a real impact on my recent tours. 

The approach here is DJ friendly, underpinned by feelings of euphoria that make the heart spin. Textural Techno!
