It is set to be a Happy New Year from Staar Traxx, where for ST011, the first release of 2016, head honcho Tom Staar has enlisted the production wizardry of an industry legend!
After a long break in the studio, German genius Eddie Thoneick returns to form with the incredible percussive masterpiece that is “Feel the Soul”. Originally premiered by both Kryder and Tom Staar, this track is pulsating, rolling “tech room”, big house music at its finest incarnation. Right from the off, the groove of the rolling tom drums builds the tension like a musical elastic band being wound up. The initial drop brings up the toms but the pumping kick drum cuts through, but that is not all. The main breakdown is as emotive as it is instructive, with massive diva vocals directing you to ‘Feel the Soul’. That really tells you what this record is about, soul, feeling, movement. Eddie Thoneick is bringing a new wave of sound to Staar Traxx.

Flying Frenchman turned overall house heavyweight Norman Doray has spent the past decade giving his nation’s knack for filter happy house music an essential reinvention and a passport onto dancefloors across the globe.
Boasting a who’s who of label duties that range from Defected, Strictly Rhythm Interscope and Atlantic to prestigious dance labels Spinnin Records, SIZE Records and LE7ELS, Norman’s repertoire of original productions and high-profile remix duties speaks for a full scale ascent of the electronic dance world that has remained inherently true to his French house roots.
With early landmark releases and remixes pairing the French DJ/producer with such prestigious camps as Defected Records, Norman took centre stage courtesy of an inaugural 2011 compilation for the prestigious Strictly Rhythm family. Accelerating his live presence and giving Norman a truly global footprint, what followed was a series of marker collaborations and signings. Marker SIZE Records release ‘Tweet It’ alongside Avicii under his Tim Berg alias marked an essential peak in his Swedish peer’s ascent, offering the perfect opportunity for Norman to return the favour with polished French house anthem ‘Filtre’ for Avicii’s LE7ELS moniker years later. Having since rallied collaborative work alongside artists as diverse as Laidback Luke, NERVO, Eddie Thoneick and Arno Cost.
His ongoing stamina has given rise to a consistent international tour schedule for Norman Doray, including a support slot for Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta on his UK tour, landmark appearances at Creamfields, Tomorrowland and ULTRA Music Festival and a residential streak in Las Vegas for both XS and Light.
Come 2016, Norman’s balance of high-profile label duties, relevant club etiquette and a respectful guise over the French sound was never more relevant to the changing tides of electronic music. Frontline single ‘All In’ balanced these merits in a truly special way, garnering huge US radio support on Sirius XM, reaching the N.1 spot on the radio station for 3 weeks being the famous "BPM BREAKER". 'All In' also peaked at N.22 position on the American Billboard Dance/Mixshow Airplay chart. The single 2017 promises a re-focus on the house roots that first gave international rise to Doray. Pairing exciting new material alongside a fresh branded live concept, the road ahead looks no less enticing for an artist whose timeless vision for modern house music continues to hold weight on every corner of the globe.
