Next up on our techno podcast we are proud to introduce to you our first live techno mix created by Soul Doubt!

 

Paddy Hamill aka Soul Doubt is a DJ/Producer from Louth who is making his way into live performances.

 

In the past 2 years he has gotten serious about producing music and really put his mind to it, releasing his "Consciousness" EP on 'Industrial Techno United' last year then following up with his single called "Recollection" which is signed to Manifest Records and featured on Youtube channels such as 'Moskalus' & 'Handpicked'.

 

Artists such as Fjaak, Kink & Bicep inspired him to go down the route of playing live. The whole concept of playing there and then in the moment is very exciting. Souldoubt has been using lockdown to his advantage to learn new techniques and improve his skills when making music. 

 

In this set you will hear mainly unreleased tracks from myself and one from his "Consciousness" EP called "Pandemic". The set consists of rave synths, trance leads and thumping kicks with crisp percussions throughout. 

 

His plan for this year is to expand his studio setup, produce and release loads of new music, so keep an eye out!

 

The live mix he provided us showcases his skills using drum machines and synths to create a banging techno sound that progressively changes over the course of the mix creating a unique live experience for you to enjoy.

This weekend we present Tish aka Jake Scanlon; having started his dj’ing career from humble beginnings at college court gaffers in Limerick, Tish has gone from strength to strength, playing for a packed techno Tuesday crowd in the stables on his debut before going onto play in the Factory in his native Waterford. He’s also gone on to do live streams and guest mixes for the RoomTwo collective in Limerick. Tish’s style of Dj’ing is a blend of fast paced techno with electro and ghetto techno and in this mix that’s exactly what you can expect.

‘Writeoff’ is a Scottish DJ and one of 4 founders of the Glasgow-based night ‘Acquisition’. Specialising in hard dance events, the recently-formed collective was started in March 2022 and has already enjoyed 4 sellout nights at Club 69 and SWG3 warehouse. Acquisition also performed for PRTY at EH1 festival at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh.

‘Writeoff’ has now started his own venture ‘Techno Snobs’, with the idea of increasing set times to give guest DJ’s a chance to express themselves musically. Going back to old-fashioned techniques, Techno Snobs still believes a club night should begin with warm up sets and build up the pace throughout the night while encouraging DJ’s to expand on their genres. 

‘Writeoff’ himself has been no stranger to reputable clubs in the scene recently, playing for On the Nose at the highly-respected La Cheetah, as well as some all day party’s at Nico’s on numerous occasions, supporting Kozlov in Paisleys rave cave (Club 69) and playing an opening warm up set for OMEGATEK at their sold out launch night in Room2. He also took part in a charity night behind the Room2 booth for a local fundraiser based night “Rave for Ukraine”. 

Writeoff also maintains a monthly residency at his local pub, The Houston inn, while also regularly playing at the Burgh bar in Dunoon.

‘Writeoff’ describes his sound as fast-paced and energetic, while switching genre’s up from time to time and showing his listeners what’s possible behind the decks, Writeoff aims to bring seamlessly mixed tracks and a memorable experience to the dance floor.
