Back around once again with another indispensable collection of new techno bangers, Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains label issue a fifth instalment of their KPAINS series.

Some of the many highlights on KPAINS5 include a classy remix of Dense & Pika’s ‘Apache’ from Oxia (whose 2006 epic ‘Domino’ became a global success), a devastating rattler from Filterheadz & Horatio, NANCY Live’s gnarly ‘CreM’ and the dark and murky garage sounds of Martin Badder’s ‘Yeh You (So Sweet)’.

Epic synths are layered over a foundation of kick and rolling bass, tying the drums together through the rim. My aim was to create a groove that’s simple to listen to, allowing the focus to shift more toward the progression of the main sound element, a build-up of energy that unfolds over time.

If I had to associate this EP with an experience, I’d imagine it as a plane ride: during takeoff, you feel the force pinning you to your seat until the moment the plane lifts off and begins to climb… Up in the air, you feel light, weightless, until the descent begins. Here comes the drop: the wheels touch the runway.

Their long-standing residencies at iconic venues like Soundcheck, Echostage, Flash DC, and The Owl Room, as well as performances at warehouse events hosted by promoters like 6AM, TechnoFamLA, and Twisted Lines, showcase their unstoppable energy and dedication to pushing the boundaries of techno on a global scale.
