Shalamar - F.O.F (mikeandtess Edit 4 Mix Reverse Intro Cause Copyright )

Fresh from lending his sublime scalpel skills to Editorial as part of the label's latest multi-artist extravaganza, C Da Afro returns to Disco Fruit with another tasty two-track missive. The Grecian producer is in predictably fine form on chunky, bass-heavy opener "Music Is Love", where dubbed-out vocal snippets, jazzy guitar motifs, swirling strings and fuzzy organ riffs cluster around a rubbery, all action disco-house groove. "Sugar Love" is an altogether more synth heavy beast, with C Da Afro applying his successful formula - all beefed-up bottom end and excitement building filter sweeps - to a dazzling slab of colourful '80s Euro-boogie goodness.

I first heard this track on Japanese DJ Koco's Glitterbox live stream earlier this year. I was immediately hypnotized by its jazzy, almost mystical groove, and by the raw, old school recording style. In my head, I immediately heard how it would sound with a strong and punchy bass line, and knew it would have to be my next project. 

I looked up the group, 300 Years, to find out who they were and what other music they made. To my surprise, they are virtually unknown, and this seems to be the only track they ever officially released. 

Maybe somewhere someone has some 300 Years records that we don't know about, or even knows who they are/were. If so, I call on them to share with the world!

Slightly Transformed bring us a five-tracker from Paul Older, an Italian producer whose work has also appeared on Hot Digits, Masterworks, Furious Mandrill, Tropical Disco and other labels. The man from Padova's dug admirably deep, so while all five tracks are re-edits we won't concern ourselves too much as regards source material: suffice to say that if your floor moves to original 70s-style disco (as opposed to its contemporary, more electronic variants) then any of the five tracks here will do the job nicely, with special mention going to 'Hot Deb' - AKA Debbie Jacobs' 1979 nugget 'Hot Hot' - which has pyeow-pyeow-pyeow! stabs to die for.

It was after getting laid off from his job that he decided to purchase a controller and start learning how to mix. Since then, he has fallen in love with providing good vibes on the dance floor and in your headphones and home speakers.
