Review:
Serbian producer Milos Djordjevic returns with another three reasons to be cheerful, and an EP bristling with classic funk, soul, disco and boogie touches. His formula - head-nodding house blended with edit style loops and neat musical touches - rarely fails to deliver the sort of rock solid grooves guaranteed to ignite the dance. Here, the real killer is arguably "Funkstar", a thickset fusion of sturdy house grooves, clipped funk guitars, sprightly horns and gritty bass. That's not to say the other two tracks aren't hot, mind; "For My People" is a groovesome chunk of jazz-funk goodness (with house bottom end), while the drifting horns, loose rhythms, eyes-shut guitar solos and rolling Hammond organs of "Summer Education" are every bit as intoxicating.

To me personally, after James Brown, The Meters is the second funkiest bunch out there, Kool & The Gang being the third. Word to Primo!

This one started somewhere along the cliffs of Italy, at least in Ric’s mind.
He dove into the Sicilian season of The White Lotus and found himself spiralling into the show’s soundtrack. That’s where he stumbled on Mina, the legendary Italian singer. One haunting vocal in particular jumped out, “Un anno d'amore”. It felt like dusk. Like slow-driving past Sicilian cliffs. Like a James Bond scene before it all kicks off.

He isolated the vocal and asked the question every producer loves to wrestle with: what now?

The answer came in the form of another classic: Herbert’s remix of Bonnie & Clyde. That moody, spacious energy. French noir meets slow groove. So Ric built his own version, an Italian love letter layered over a bass line that echoes that same pulse, in another key.

Amore is a cinematic detour. Intimate, romantic, and free to download, because some things are better shared than cleared.
