Moi Je, en realité, is the Lyon-based L. De Lassablière. He is finally back with a new EP – ’Reviens’ – that’s more disco and funk than ever. He and a select bunch of close collaborators have crafted this new release with the act of dancing firmly in their sights. The essence of the Moi Je project is still there, with its French electronic influences blended with the warmth of Italian summer sunburns. It’s a signature, poetic sound that has evolved over years of experimentation and practice, now here in glorious high-fidelity. There’s a playfulness too, with lyrics and music combining in fresh new ways. His biggest success so far is his beautiful, warm, disco-ified remix of “On You” from 2016 for fellow Frenchman Kazy Lambist, which earned him a gold disc! The track hasn’t left our USB DJ stick since its release, and is guaranteed to get every sophisticated dance floor moving. (released on Delicieuse Musique Records)

BowAsWell (Beijing) 
BowAsWell is the recording project of producer, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Yichi Zhang. Born and raised in Mainz, Germany, Yichi grew up listening to R&B and hiphop from his sister’s iPod, and started playing guitar and writing songs in his bedroom after returning to China. He studied experimental art at Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, but soon discovered that his true passion lay in music. Under the influence of musicians like Mac Demarco, Bibio and Tame Impala, he fell in love with this DIY aesthetic, bought some analogue synths and outboard gear, built his own home studio, and started making music under the name BowAsWell in 2018. He releases through the prolific French “Delicieuse Musique” label. His inspirations are brilliantly varied, from 70s library music all the way to disco and synthpop. The track was one of our musical highlights of 2024, so we had to include it here. ‘Over when the night is gone’ proves our enduring belief: that being a white soul boy is simply a state of mind!
