UK producer @owl_the has been building a heavy rep in funk. edits  and house circles over the last few years with a series of low slung groove heavy tracks which have seen him in demand all over the globe as a DJ. Indian House Pioneer @hamzarahimtula has teamed up with Loopy Juice to release Givin It Up a ten cut LP which lands this week via @selektarecordings. Our premier today from the album 'Living It Up' is a tasty slice of super smooth disco edged house music, taking it's inspirations from the slick classic disco of Chic through to the the funkier edges of house championed by the UK's shapeshifters this is a very tasty release.

Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of one of dance music's most iconic record labels 'Philadelphia International' the Basement Boy's Teddy Douglas has paid tribute to Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff with the release of a 10 track album of his reworks and remixes of some of Philadelphia International's finest ever moments via @quantize-recordings

Included are stand out versions of legendary tracks Don't Leave Me This Way, You Can't Hide From Yourself, Free Love and our premier today Teddy's reproduction of @john-morales and Thommy Davis's Was That All It Was. 

The album features a who's who of Soulful house's hottest producers and vocalists all at the top of their game. It's a superb tribute. On the A-side is ‘Hey Boy’ by Italian producer/DJ Giuseppe Fimiani aka BPlan, a dirty lowdown that perfectly completes the vibe of the A-side. BPlan’s skills in bringing a unique take to a familiar riff is nothing short of genius. The perfectly pitched bass, filtered chord progression and mid-tempo beat lead us on a journey drenched in summer juices which, when combined with the vocal samples force you to stay in the moment and stop runnin’ with those Joneses. A sublime slice of a summer long past served up by one of the brains behind Caffè Corretto Edits, this is Daje Funk at its very best.
