Australia's Dave Mathmos brings us a five-track re-edit EP that digs impressively deep for inspiration. 'Slick Talk' revisits Asha Puthli's 1976 Indo-disco nugget 'Space Talk' (a favourite at The Loft) and is every bit as hypnotic and sensual as the original. 'Just... A Lonely Soul' reworks Labi Siffre's 'I Got The' from 1975 (the source for Eminem's 'My Name Is') and comes in hazy, druggy Part 1 and more immediately floor-friendly Part 2 forms, while finally 'Sell The House' and the fairly self-explanatory 'Sell The Dub' are based on a 1976 Ashford & Simpson album cut of the same name.

Hailing from Debrecen - Hungary, the fierce and powerful duo 'Peter Makkai & Andras Szerepi' better known as 'The Magic Track' arrive for the very first time to the EP series with an outstanding original four tracker EP sampling chops from different African styles. For their first take 'Pantherson Crusoe' delivers an afrodisiac vibe with enigmatic flutes attached to acid synths and a heavy-weight bassline creating a furious atmosphere perfect to uplift any kind of set. Right next to it 'Juju Love Spell' echoes with another african sample taking things to a breezy mood and a laid-back groove with cowbells on the rhythm section and senoidal waves on the low end. For the third installment 'Four Seasons' takes the release name and brings a funky feeling with female vocals, a fascinating saxophone solo and lots of tropical percussions. As for the last cut 'Strawberry Pops' wraps up this amazing journey with a slo-motion afro-cuban sample, psychedelic organs and exceptional cheerful vocals. Keep your eyes peeled !!
