Next up in the series we have Isaac Peces, a DJ and Vinyl digger based in Galicia, Spain! His danceable, elegant and eclectic sessions revolve around jazz, soul, funk, disco, boogie, house, latin, afrobeat, dub, balearic, edits, tropical and even more!

He has played over the last decade at festivals such as Womex, Jazzaldia, Noroeste or Revenidas, as well as parties in and outside the country, highlighting Brilliant Corners (London), Canvas (Amsterdam), Le Mellotron (Paris), Berlin Café (Madrid), Afrodisia (Granada), Artte (Barcelona), Primeiro Andar (Lisbon). He was responsible for the Graham parties and the 14th! Club, where he programs concerts and DJs from the afro-american scene. He is part of the vinyl collective Fiera del Disco, also with Jas Processor he joins forces in the 100% disco combo called Souldiggers, while also joining forces with Fan-Te in the couple Estranhas Criaturas, to unleash his most electronic side.

A man of many skills, he also writes as an editor for the Acidjazzhispano page, has recorded sessions for Lovemonk, Sonideros, Bill Brewster, Baile Híbrido and Apricot Ballroom, and is also director of the monthly program ‘Diggin Pearls’ through the Keakie platform. He combines technique, versatility and love for vinyl, which makes him, despite his age, a regular on the Galician and national scene.

For the mix Isaac rolls through an eclectic mix of serious mid tempo grooves with some upbeat numbers to finish off that will surely get anyone moving, solid selection from start to finish, get involved!

ADMIN GUEST MIX SEPTEMBER 2021 (MELODIC DISTRACTION)

20 years ago, it was pretty much the dawn of the internet for me, I got my first email adress ( that i still use ) and slowly figured out how to order records via GEMM and perhaps an early EBAY. I have no idea how I ended up finding Million Dollar Disco and BringTheHeat but I did, and thats how I met Zernell, Rahaan, Boogie Nite, Sean Souds, Zaf, LoveOnTheRun and Al Kent of course. 
I wanna say Million Dollar Disco was incredibly sophisticated with articles and mixes and a message board. Even then the man in question had this unsatisfyable obsession with everything disco, strings and horns. I remember his Disco Demands  CD comps that later transitioned into epic releases on BBE, a crazy resource of deep disco and uptempo soul.
Later in when I moved to Berlin we've invited him to play our party LEGACY and even though the turn out wasn't great in 2005, he's played an amazing set. Of course. He leaves very little to chance and always brings the craziest edits of the craziest songs.
Later, we did another party when I had moved to Amsterdam. With more people and more Disco. And two of his edits even made it onto a Lumberjacks 12". 
Since then he's edited, produced, compiled, organized and endless amount of music and parties. 
A stubborn, akward, funny scottish trailblazer who's never betrayed his purest of love for Disco, so much so he's certainly in a league of his own.

Lumberjacks Tapes 026: Al Kent ( Million Dollar Disco )

Pretty much one year ago, I gave in to the urge to pull all my best Gospel records together and make a Gospel Tape to be published right before the holy night. I am not religious albeit spiritual. I am not much into Christmas jams, but I dig the Gospel. And I have my own personal story with Jesus that I might share one day but if you've read Paulo Coelo - The Fifth Mountain, there are certainly paralells. 
Nowadays I believe in the positive ideas of religion that can uplift the spirit. 

But what I am really interested in is Gospel Music. 

These records are like colours to me. Many people are used to experience the same colours over and over again. While there is so much more music to love and fall in love with. Use it as a gateway into other universes. I ve tried that with my twitch series earlier this year. Together we ve just listened through my record collection and we hardly listened to a song twice. I want to shout out Zoe, Jayne, Zuzi, Oria, Angel, Keta, Kelly, Frankie, Josh, Brian, Johnny and many others and Special thanks to Chris and Rob for introducing me to the platform and carrying me through the process. Despite the digital aspect it has been a wonderfully human experience on many levels. 

Thanks for listening and have beautiful holidays, no matter what faith you have or not have. I believe in life as the most precious entity that connects us all.

Chicago's Tone B drops by with a magic box of 45s from his personal collection for a 1 hour broadcast. Expect a mix of unheard gospel, disco and African songs, very well put together. 

Anthony Fields aka Tone B. Nimble, has been collecting records for over 30 years. He started in the mid-1980’s as a DJ spinning House, Disco, and Italo in Chicago’s underground scene, and he is famous for making disco edits together with  Al Bumz under the Al Tone alias. We can only imagine the amazing collection he's build. 

This is the sixth recording in a series of (themed) Rush Hour in-store broadcasts, recorded on March 21th, 2018. After a live broadcast to Facebook, the music lands on Soundcloud for playback.

Probably one of the most sampled records ever! I was commissioned by Ten12 Records to do a re-edit of this classic joint in 2006. Though this is my favorite version, it was never released on the final 12-inch. I was happy to know that the surviving members of the group enjoyed this re-work. I hope you do, too!
