Howitzer Records 04 welcomes Vancouver’s own AWood to the label with their single ‘Holding On’.
One of the best house and techno acts in the city, you can catch AWood at some of Vancouver’s premiere clubs and parties including Babes on Babes, Celebrities and Gorgomish to name a few. AWood’s talent is quickly becoming recognized on the national level as well, recently playing extended sets in Calgary and Toronto, and made their debut at the legendary Shambhala Music Festival in 2022. 
‘Holding On’ is a minimal tech house groover driven by layers of rolling percussion and spacey synths that support the track’s smooth and nostalgic vocal. AWood’s ‘Holding On’ is an evocative banger that feels like you’re driving off into the sunset after kissing your relationship goodbye.

"ZE:NA love for music comes from her childhood growing up in London to the local sounds of garage, grime, reggae and RnB.

Later living in Bristol she immersed herself in the music culture exploring drum and bass, dubstep and house. It was here she gained a passion for DJing which evolved over the next 10 years.
You can see these influences in her music selection, blending jungly, breaks and soulful vocals in her mixes.

She is also a wellness professional teaching spin, yoga and meditation. Most recently she has been able to explore her love for ambient music with the mixes she is creating for her yoga and meditation classes. On top of this she has been able to use her passion for music to help others through events she curates with her organization Rise Foundation e.V. (@ risefoundationberlin on IG) which raises funds and provides support for the unhoused in Berlin."

Whimsical Wax Mix

Melodic Techno, Techy House, and Space Disco make my heart sing

Hardware geek into synthesizers and jamboxes and the four on the floor genres associated with them. Been a bedroom producer since 2018, noodling around with lots of sound design and some music theory. Stay tuned for some tracks, most of them currently live on my hardware and are yet to be digitized. 

As for the DJ side of things, I'm barely learning the ropes but the idea is to one day integrate with the hardware for live performance. In the meantime I hunt here for tunes from other sonic cosmonauts.

I'm a vinyl junkie with an eclectic and eccentric collection that I can't spin for the life of me, but I like to sample and mash with my electronic boxes and hear what new sounds I can conjure up.
