Stan's sound can best be described as "techno with heart and soul". Away from short-lived trends, he likes to play with persevering sets under the skin of his audience, creating those magical moments on the floor that make club nights or festivals special.

Whether as a resident of Der Strand 22 in Jena, or as an artist in the Berlin clubs KaterBlau, the Betriebsfeier on the MS Hoppetosse, the Sisyphos or the Sonne Mond und Sterne Festival, Stan is always happy behind the decks.

His track in collaboration with @fabian-vieregge, "Research", is a proper dance floor bomb and will be out soon as part of our COMPILATION THREE - stay tuned 🔥

Am Boden eines Weizenglases fanden wir das Ende eines Schnurtelefons mit Direktverbindung zum Kater. Am anderen Apparat waren doch tatsächlich Mona Moore und Stan Starry die die Gelegenheit nutzen wollten und uns dieses enorme Schmuckstück an Set in Form pressten.

Wann habt ihr das letzte Mal etwas gerade so mit „Ach und Krach“ geschafft?
"Na genau jetzt – diese Fragen haben wir mit Ach und noch mehr Krach beantwortet."

Was ist euer Lieblingskrach?
"Ganz klar: die Kaffeemühle am Morgen. Das ist unser persönlicher Soundcheck zum Start in den Tag."

Welches Set / welcher Track / welches Album lief bei Euch die letzten Wochen auf Repeat?
"Repeat? Bei uns läuft nur eins in Dauerschleife: Beatport. Wir klicken uns stundenlang durch Warenkörbe, bis der Algorithmus wahrscheinlich denkt, wir wohnen im Shop."

Einfach mal den Gute-Laune-Tee 8 statt 4 Minuten ziehen lassen, unserem brandneuen Podcast mit Stas Kolbass lauschen und der Tag eskaliert so richtig! 🚀🥳

Geboren und aufgewachsen im ukrainischen Teil der Sowjetunion, ist Stas Kolbass 1998 nach Berlin gezogen. Seitdem hat Berlin seinen Stil und seine Persönlichkeit ständig beeinflusst.

Wir haben ihn gefragt was ihn an der Stadt in der er lebt am meisten begeistert. Zum einen liebt er, wie wir alle, die großartige Feierkultur und außerdem gibt es selbst nach den 21 Jahren, die er schon in Berlin lebt, jeden Tag etwas neues für ihn zu entdecken.
Begeistert ist er ebenso von der in Berlin berüchtigten, sowie gefürchteten "alles egal" Einstellung - "Selbst wenn man hier nackt rumläuft gibt es von den Leuten nicht mehr als ein Schulterzucken."
Diese Einstellung beschreibt wohl nichts anderes, als sich mehr fallen zu lassen und sich nicht über jede Kleinigkeit Gedanken machen zu müssen. Stas Kolbass berichtete uns, dass es eine der wichtigsten Entscheidungen in seinem Leben war, sich fallen zu lassen und mehr Dinge zu verfolgen die ihm Spaß machen. Für ihn sind diese Dinge, Feiern, Auflegen und Festivals.

Wir schneiden uns eine große Scheibe dieser Einstellung ab und wünschen euch viel Spaß bei -

Born and raised in the Ukrainian part of the Soviet Union, Stas Kolbass moved to Berlin in 1998. Since then Berlin has constantly influenced his style and personality.

We asked him what he likes most about the city he lives in. On the one hand he loves, like all of us, the great party culture and on the other hand, even after the 21 years he has lived in Berlin, there is something new for him to discover every day.
He is also enthusiastic about the notorious and dreaded "no matter what" attitude in Berlin - "Even if you walk around here naked, there is nothing more than a shrug of the shoulders from the people.
This attitude probably describes nothing else but to let oneself fall more and not to have to worry about every little thing. Stas Kolbass told us that one of the most important decisions in his life was to let himself fall and to pursue more things that he enjoys. For him these things are celebrating, hanging out and festivals.

🗯🗯 How Did Corona change your artist life? 🗯🗯

Corona has been a very weird time for me. The first few months of the lockdown I actually played more than I did before because I got invited to do a ton of streams. However it is obviously not the same as playing in front of a crowd at all. So even though that felt odd or not as satisfying as standing in front of a full dance floor some very surprising and positive things came of that.

The streams gave people access to experience a ‚live set‘ that wouldn’t have had that otherwise and are usually mainly stuck to Soundcloud sets. I even got messages from people saying they are hoping that streams will continue even after the pandemic as they live in areas that are far off any clubs. On top of that I also got messages from people saying how much it helped and encouraged them in this difficult time. One even from a nurse working in a corona ward, that one actually moved me to tears. 

🗯🗯 Where did you record the mix and how did you feel? 🗯🗯

At home, feeling a bit chilly, realizing autumn is coming and dreaming of better days.

🗯🗯 What are your wishes for the time after Corona? 🗯🗯

I hope that Corona instills a new sense of appreciation for what we have and what freedom we enjoy. Also to understand how much work goes into creating the clubs and parties we all love and have taken for granted. This is already happening with the few events that are taking place  here in Berlin and I hope it continues on once the pandemic is over.
