EPIC DREAMS In The Cold Light Of Day CD (Anna 039)

Inspired by the early 80's Cold Wave and New Wave, a German trio consisting of Andreas "Andi" Koch (synthesisers, backing vocals), Joachim "Joa" Saleina (synthesisers, drum machines) and Götz Langenbruch (vocals) already started recording together in 1986, disbanded in 1989 and reformed in 2008 as EPIC DREAMS with the aim "to revive the flair and sound of the early 80s - Electronic New Wave Music". Since then they've re-recorded many of the original recordings and recorded new material which found its way already onto various compilations and two 7" single releases. Using wonderful analogue synths and drum machines such as the Boss Dr. Rhythm DR-110, Casio VL-Tone, Korg KR-55 / M-500 SP Micro-Preset / MS-10, Roland CR-68 / Jupiter-4 / SH-101, Yamaha CS-01 II, they've found their very own melancholic and romantic style. 

This CD contains material compiled by the band members themselves and differs from the upcoming 2LP version in both track selection and song versions.

CD features: 19 tracks, 77 mins, limited edition of 500 copies, 6pp DigiPac, 8pp booklet with lyrics, mastered by Martin Bowes (Attrition, The Cage Studios), artwork by Steve Lippert. Price : € 12.00

Shelflife is thrilled to announce Airiel's second full-length LP, Molten Young Lovers, coming out on double LP and digital formats on Oct 13, 2017. This album is the much-anticipated follow-up to 2012's Kid Games EP. 

"Cloudburst," the record's first single (which was released this past March), provides a clear insight into the record's magic. The huge chorus is carried by a vocal melody that stands out as the largest part, only complimented by the waves of cascading guitar. In fact, 'large' might be the best possible descriptor for Molten Young Lovers as a whole. The tracks on this LP have a larger-than-life quality, partly due to the crisp production. Kiss' drums are hard-hitting and clear, the guitars are enveloping and lush, and Blanton's basslines flesh out the walls of sound created by the rest of the band. Molten Young Lovers is an album that feels instantly seamless, but that doesn't prevent Airiel from covering a wide range of dynamic ground. Tracks like the opener, "This Is Permanent," and the final track, "The Painkillers," are uptempo songs carried by the unwavering rhythm section, while much of what's in-between--such as "Your Lips, My Mouth"--feel more reflective, without sacrificing any intensity. 

In a 2011 interview, Wrenn mentioned that to others, he often describes his music as, "It's really loud, it's pretty and you can dance to it." At first, this might sound like a description that could fit any number of bands. However, upon diving into Airiel's new album, you'll find it to be both an apt description and an inarguable truth. Molten Young Lovers is a record too loud, too big, and too beautiful to be ignored.

„Zwischen den Jahren“ ist die Vorabsingle der 2016 gegründeten Band Botschaft aus dem Debutalbum „Musik verändert nichts“. Botschaft, das sind Malte Thran, Peter Tiedecken (Ex-Station 17, Ex-The Robocop Kraus, Thai Wolf), Nils Kempen (Station 17 und Ex-Saboteur), Christian Heerdt und Holger Lüken (Ex-Tusq). Die Musik: Soft Rock, Yacht Rock, höflicher Gitarren-Pop - mit „Indie“ hat das nichts zu tun. Es ist ein lockerer, leichter Klang, deren Lyrics mit der Art der Musik brechen. Keine deutsche Band macht momentan Musik, die auch nur entfernt an Botschaft erinnert. Ein ganz eigener Sound, kobaltblau und kirchengelb, oder wie Neil Young (auf den sich bei Botschaft alle einigen können) mal sagte: „It’s all one song“.
