Professional party starter, and keen exponent of underground dance sounds, Sean Harrington, cues up his first release for Ben Rau’s META label.  ‘Soul X’ backed with ‘Camden Palace’ finds the promising new artist from the North East of England flex his musical chops on a very impressive debut.

A chunky and up-tempo house groove is served up on ‘Soul X’, as driving bass pulses, acidic squelches and vocal hook are added to the slammin’ drums for a real peak time burner.  Accompanying track, ‘Camden Palace’, plays it slightly deeper, with a nod to the legendary London venue that bore witness to many a garage and house rave over the decades!  Lucious pads and strings combo swell over the tight drum rhythm, and those classic ‘hands in the air’ Korg M1 piano stabs masterfully create a tidy breakdown moment before heady 303 tones are dusted over this throwback production.

Sean Harrington returns to Ben Rau’s META label with a brace of tracks designed lift the spirits and get the floor moving. The follow up to his ‘Soul X’ / ‘Camden Palace’, released late 2021, Harrington demonstrates his ear for a good groove on the ‘Reborn’ single.

Lead track ‘Reborn’ is a perfectly executed hypnotising house track, as a filtering piano riff, bubbling acid tones and uplifting vocals are added to the steady four to the floor rhythm and tight drums for a legit club banger!  On ‘Swing City’, an imposing bassline weaves around crispy claps and shakers, bursting into life with Detroit house style piano chords and a very complimentary saxophone riff, fans of the Mad Mike/UR sound will love this one!
