Luke Slater is back as Planetary Assault Systems with another iconic EP titled ‘Devotion’. As a trailblazer in techno with anticipation ahead of every release, Slater appoints complementary scene Truncate and Barker for the remixes.

‘Devotion’ opens the EP with what can only be described as raw drum machine psychosis. Slater whips up multiple, classic tom-based 909 sequences with impact - he keeps things straight to the point before introducing the defining vocal sample. Truncate remixes the track by stripping it down to its bare essentials and emphasizing the rumbling kicks. He also gives the track his own flare of groove elements that build stylistic progression throughout the track.

Björn Torwellen’s ‘Binary Fate’ EP kickstarts CLR’s 2025 with three pounding Techno tracks 31st January 2025. From the razor-sharp percussion and raw bassline power in title track ‘Binary Fate’, to the cavernous dub hits and shadowy atmospheres of ‘Fear of the Unknown’, before closing on the mind-warping signals of ‘Lost in Transmission’ - Torwellen’s ‘Binary Fate’ is yet another supersized debut on the seminal CLR.

Following Björn Torwellen’s appearance on the CLR podcast in June 2024, the Cologne-based artist now definitively joins Chris Liebing’s label with the ‘Binary Fate’ three-tracker this January. With a career spanning over two decades, Björn is known for his discography on labels like De-Konstrukt, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, nonlinear systems, and now CLR.

Founded by influential techno lynchpin Chris Liebing in 1999 and reemerging in 2021 after a five-year hiatus, Create Learn Repeat (CLR) has hosted a range of artists like Shlomi Aber, Dubfire, Flug, Bjarki, DJ Dextro and more while also focusing on developing newer acts in the scene such as Risa Taniguchi, The Southern, and Klint.

The journey begins with the title track Efflorescence (2014) – a widescreen ambient piece where emotional pads and luminous melodies unfold like a slow-motion bloom, evoking vast cinematic spaces with a fragile intensity.

The mood fractures with Become Free Swimming – a hyper-saturated vortex of FX-driven abstraction and throbbing low-end turbulence, equal parts chaos and propulsion.

Somatic Cells follows, offering a moment of suspended calm – spacious, atmospheric, and warm with an organic flow. Then Respect The Balance and The Picasso Bug shift the focus to the floor, delivering two rumbling tools forged for weighty sound systems and shadowy dancefloors.

Closing things out is Vibrant Symmetrical Pattern – a broken beat experiment at 80 BPM, fusing haunting melodies with heavy basslines and twisted synth shapes. It’s a left-turn finale, strange and bold.

In 1992 a child prodigy was born and this child prodigy had already in the deepest childhood a special vein for music. Because he remembers fondly the Love Parade, where he watched the hour-long spectacle on the flicker box and was already very fascinated and excited at that time, how harmoniously so many people could celebrate in one heap. He still remembers his first hip swings and somehow he did not quite know what was happening to him at that time, because as fate would have it, his nightlife began in his teens. At the age of just 15, he attended his first rave at the Alhambra, a trendy club that was very popular in Oldenburg. Quite simple noises could only be heard out of the music. If one should describe it in approximately "Bumm Bumm, click Klack Buum Tschack ,Tschick Tschick click Klack" and one called it Minimal. This music kept him so on his toes and catapulted him into ecstasy that he went to these venues almost every weekend to dance for hours on end. Then, at the age of 17, he started playing his first mixes himself, some of which just sound amateurish. But no master fell from the sky and he continued to try himself out and spent nights at the mixer. His intention was to sound like the greats. Over the years he has been able to discover his sound for himself. He has a very special style but also thus a recognition value for himself can create. He likes to play with the music like a ping pong. Over the years he has gained a certain repertoire of sounds and technical craft. 13 years he is now practicing his passion and he still loves it like the first day. Only that in the meantime he has internalized his style for himself and also stays up to it. Groovy and driving is his divise, because that is what he loves from the heart. A certain character of playfulness and continuity characterize his sound. He has already made the walls shake a few evenings and put many people in ecstasy and that is exactly what gives him so much pleasure, just to see people dancing and spreading a harmonious mood. Meanwhile, he takes the whole thing more seriously and also started his own productions. His goal is to perfect his sounds in the next few years and sound like absolute professionals. He definitely has the potential, only patience is the key to success. So he does what he can do and works diligently on his tunes until the whole thing is 100% round. Determined he stays on the ball and guarantees to get there in the next few years to realize his dream to reach as many people as possible with his music. Where he once stood in front of the DJ booth and danced through the night, his idea is to change sides and bring others into a trance with his unique in his mixes as well as in his productions. A love that will last forever, you can't touch it but you can feel it and that from the bottom of your heart. A Minimal/Tech-House fan of the very special kind, unique and strange.

1992 wurde ein Wunderkind geboren und dieses Wunderkind hatte schon im tiefsten Kindesalter eine besondere Ader für Musik. Denn er erinnert sich gerne zurück an die Love Parade, wo er in der Flimmerkiste das Stundenlange Spektakel verfolgt zu haben und damals schon sehr fasziniert und begeistert gewesen war, wie harmonisch so viele Menschen auf ein Haufen feiern konnten. Er erinnert sich noch an seine ersten Hüftschwünge und irgendwie wusste er noch nicht ganz wie ihm geschieht, zu diesem Zeitpunkt, denn wie das Schicksal es wollte, begann sein Nachtleben schon im Teenie Alter. Mit gerade mal 15 Jahren besuchte er seinen ersten Rave im Alhambra ein Szeneclub, der in Oldenburg sehr beliebt war. Ziemlich simple Geräusche waren aus der Musik nur rauszuhören. Wenn man es beschreiben sollte in etwa „Bumm Bumm, Klick Klack Buum Tschack ,Tschick Tschick Klick Klack“ und man nannte es Minimal. Diese Musik hat ihn so auf Trap gehalten und in Ekstase katapultiert, dass er fast jedes Wochenende diese Lokalitäten aufsuchte, um stundenlang durchzutanzen. Mit 17 Jahren begann er dann selbst seine ersten Mixe zu spielen, die zum Teil einfach nur amateurhaft klingen. Aber kein Meister ist vom Himmel gefallen und er probierte sich weiterhin aus und hat sich Nächtelang an den Mixer gestellt.  Seine Intention war, zu klingen wie die Großen. Mit den Jahren hat er seinen Sound für sich entdecken können. Er hat ein sehr speziellen Style aber auch somit ein wiedererkennungswert für sich schaffen können. Er spielt gerne mit der Musik wie ein Ping Pong. Mit den Jahren hat er ein gewisses Repertoire an Sounds und Technisches Handwerk gewonnen. 13 Jahre übt er nun seine Leidenschaft aus und er liebt es immer noch wie am ersten Tag. Nur das er mittlerweile sein Style für sich verinnerlicht hat und auch dem Stand bleibt. Groovig und treibend ist seine Divise, denn das ist das was er von Herzen aus liebt. Ein gewissen Charakter von Verspieltheit und Kontinuität zeichnen seinen Sound aus. Er hat schon einige Abende die Wände zum Wackeln gebracht und viele Menschen in Ekstase versetzt und genau das ist das was ihm so große Freude bereitet, einfach die Menschen tanzen zu sehen und eine harmonische Stimmung zu verbreiten. Mittlerweile nimmt er die ganze Sache ernster und begann auch mit seinen eigenen Produktionen. Sein Ziel ist es, in den nächsten Jahren seine Sounds zu perfektionieren und so zu klingen wie absolute Profis. Das Potenzial besitz er definitiv, nur Geduld ist der Schlüssel zum Erfolg. Also tut er was er tun kann und arbeitet fleißig an sein Tunes, bis die ganze Sache 100 % Rund ist. Zielstrebig bleibt er weiterhin am Ball und garantiert in den nächsten Jahren dahin anzugelangen, um seinen Traum zu verwirklichen, um so viele Menschen wie möglich mit seiner Musik zu erreichen. Wo er mal stand, vor dem DJ Pult und Nächtelang durchgetanzt hat, ist seine Vorstellung darin die Seite zu wechseln und andere in Trance zu bringen mit seinem einzigartigen in sein Mixen sowie in seinen Produktionen. Eine Liebe, die für ewig bleibt, man kann sie zwar nicht greifen aber spüren und das vom ganzen Herzen. Ein Minimal/Tech-House Fan von der ganz besonderen Art, einzigartig und sonderbar.
