And Mary said:
My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit has rejoiced in God my savior

Why O Lord do you stand so far away

Psalm 17

Preserve me o God, for in you I take refuge

May the Lord answer you in the day of your trouble!

Lyrics won’t fit here and I do urge you to read along in your Bible. 
This song is intended as a memory aid to memorize psalm 22.
Intro was from 1 Peter 2:21-25 as it was fitting. 

Now if you would indulge me.. imagine you know this verse by heart, you’ve just ordered Jesus of Nazareth to be crucified and as He begins quoting this psalm, beginning with My God my God why have you forsaken me, moving into they have pierced my hands and feet, and seeing the Psalm being fulfilled before your eyes… you stand a gasp..
But you know another prophecy, not a bone shall be broken.. so Satan puts it into your heart to have His legs broken, because if they are broken, then He can’t possibly be the Messiah.. 
So you go to Pilate and suddenly take issue with leaving Him on the cross because of your holy day, when just a few hours before you didn’t seem to care as you demanded He be crucified..
Pilate gives you what you ask of him, and the Roman soldiers approach the 3 on the crosses..
They break the one thief’s legs and he screams in pain and begins to suffocate..
They break the legs of the other thief and he likewise follows suit.. it all comes down to this moment… you are holding your breath in anticipation, but then.. something unexpected..
Christ already said It is finished. He replaced the words “he has done it” with the words “it is done” 

The Roman soldiers seeing He is already dead, pierce His side and out flows blood and water. 
And in that moment not only was not a single bone broken.. but another prophecy springs to mind..

“When they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.”
‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭12‬:‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Psalm 22

This psalm is dedicated to my brother in Christ, Paul Washer. 
He lead me to the Lord and by his sermons he encouraged me along the way until I found a church that preached the gospel. 
I pray that the Lord put this song in front of Paul washer that he be encouraged for I know this psalm means a great deal to him and is written on all sides of his heart.

Psalm 24

To you O Lord I lift up my soul
To you O God in you I trust
Let me not be put to shame, let my enemies exalt not over me
Indeed none who wait for you shall be put to shame, they’ll be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous 
Make me know your ways O Lord
Teach me your paths

Psalm 25

Psalm 3

Psalm 23

I have no clue what I'm doing. I used to play in bars and as a street performer in Chicago paying bums from my tips because they claimed it was their corner. I got born again during a rough time in my life, hadn't touched my guitar in maybe a decade or so. 
Put Psalm 23 to music as I had memorized it as a kid, the next night I was alone with no tv, no nothing so I put Psalm 1 to guitar, then a few days later I decided I'd the rest of the Psalms to music. Somewhere around Psalm 3 I realized there were 150 of them and this might take longer than I thought. 

I just wanted to memorize the Psalms so I was writing a song and then listening to it until I learned the words, which I know how backwards that sounds lol
Got tired of having to click my audio file in the iPhone note recorder so I started uploading them on Soundcloud for my own sake. 
One night as I lay in bed, somewhere around psalm 6, I realized I still had my 7 notebooks jam packed with all my secular music and it was sitting there as a trophy of my past accomplishments so I woke up and first thing in the morning I burned them all. That afternoon I put Mary's song of Praise to a rap beat which was really outside of my musical style, though perfectly in line with my tastes. Since then I use whatever genre I feel best would help me complete a song. Seeing as the scope is the 150 psalms, the other 38 or so other songs in the Bible plus any other verses I want to memorize I think this is a good idea for preventing everything from sounding the same. Very glad I burnt my secular music. 
When I write a song, I play it for my girls. If they start dancing and running around in circles, then I keep it, otherwise I go a different direction. Ultimately the whole goal is for me and my daughters to eventually memorize all 150 Psalms without hurting our brains with arduous and laborious studying.

While I would PREFER keep these songs 110% word for word, that would get me in trouble with copyright infringement so for each song I sit down with 5 different translations of the Bible and rework them all together into my own  singing Buti "translation"
