INIT is Benedikt Frey & Nadia D’Alò. We are delighted to present their long delayed vinyl and digital album, NRGY.

Born out of various art performances and installations, INIT states a logical outcome of Berlin based duo Nadia D'Alò and Benedikt Frey. With heavy use of analogue synthesis and drum-machines, INIT rethinks its genre's sonic approach, unfolding a unique and organic, yet alienating sound, somewhere in the mysterious midst of Acid, Techno, Ambient and Kraut-Rock. 

This is INIT's third album, following two releases on Hivern Discs, and performances at clubs such as Berghain, Robert Johnson and Pudel Club.

INIT say - 

Module, NRGY, and Time were reverse extracted out of our live set and re-recorded and re-arranged after we realised how well they work in clubs. It is the first time we worked this way as we tend not to play our compositions live, like we produced them. Mostly we just extract loops out of our production to mess around with in a loose live project. 

Snowglobe, Holes In My CV and N.O.D. were more built up from a studio jam plus a bulletproof-ish arrangement afterwards. 

Tried and tested on dance floors this is a surefire hit album on the dancefloor, and at home. NRGY!

Since the mid 90s this brilliant vocalist / producer has been pleasing our ears with his output, whether as collaborator on the incredible Swell Session project with fellow Swedish producer Andreas Saag, Vocalising many artist/producer’s works or releasing sharp and glitchy electronic beats as Pinku Vääty.  

Jonatan Bäckelie now makes this impressive comeback with 'Is It True?' under his Ernesto & the Basement Gospel moniker, featuring a rich blend of low-slung beats and intricate musical arrangements that highlight his angelic vocals. The release is further enhanced by a diverse extended remix package from label mates ATJAZZ and PEACEY, as well as Swedish production duo DIRTYTWO, each remix illuminating different aspects of the original while maintaining its captivating vocal flow and strong hook.

This track was inspired by a particular experience after a night at We Out Here festival in 2023.

In the morning after there was a soundcheck at a stage near the campsite, where a saxophonist was playing with lots of delay and reverb effects. 
It echoed around the campsite, bouncing and morphing and seemingly coming from every direction. It sounded surreal and otherworldly, partly due to the effects on the sax and partly due to Sun Sone’s brain being halfway between the morning and the previous night.

He attempted to replicate that sound and feeling, using a reversed sample of a saxophone for the effect. The vocals were discovered by chance, looking for something which matched the key of the sax. With an incredibly rich and powerful tone in her voice, the rest of the song was built around these vocals and the sax parts.

After 15 years of producing club tracks which have enjoyed support from everyone from Gilles Peterson to Disclosure and playing everywhere from Womb in Tokyo to Space and Pikes in Ibiza to fabric in London and Glastonbury, London-based producer and DJ Ben Gomori turns his hand to his first long-form release: ‘Collapsing Time’.
Drawing on sounds ranging from the Balearic grooves celebrated by his Balearic London party and label (alongside Ariane V, Gaucho and Sarahtonin) to the progressive and breakbeat sounds of his youth, ‘80s synth pop and boogie and the peak-time house he is known for, the album features collaborations with the likes of Rui Da Silva—who also mixed and mastered the album—and rising talents like Carly Foxx, Daisybelle, Michelle Nova and Coco Cole. Featuring Gomori’s first songwriting efforts, the mood of the album is a mix of the euphoric and the melancholic, and draws on the theme of our elastic experience and struggles with time and its impact on our relationships. All tracks and lyrics were written and produced by Gomori, with additional guitar parts by Michael Jablonka (Michael Kiwanuka’s guitarist) and flamenco specialist, Glenn Sharp.
The project represents a bold step forward for Gomori, showing his development as an artist with wider intentions and leaning into his love of pop music while retaining his dancefloor foundations.
