1999 wasn't just another year in pop music; it was the year Britney Spears, guided by Max Martin, took the UK by storm with "Baby One More Time." This song topped the charts at the end of 1998 in the USA; it defined pop culture and ignited my lifelong passion for music. Britney's infectious energy, combined with Max's songwriting genius, shaped my view of what pop music could be.

Fast forward to 2024, and Max Martin is still on top, scoring his 26th No. 1 hit with Ariana Grande. This continuous success isn't just a feat; it's a testament to the timeless quality of great pop music and its power to inspire across generations.

Baby One More Time

The 2nd single from my upcoming album '1999'.

"Waiting for Tonight" is a dance-pop song originally performed by the American pop group 3rd Party, released in 1997. However, it gained widespread recognition when Jennifer Lopez covered it in 1999. Lopez's rendition infused the track with her own style and energy, becoming a major hit. 

p.s I've always loved MNEK's refix of Waiting For Tonight so I took inspiration on the 2nd chorus when singing the adlibs.

A dance pop cover of Deeper Shade of Blue. Celebrating all my favourite music released in 1999. It was later released as a single in 2000. 

Fun fact -  Steps is the first musical Act I saw in concert. And I've seen them a few times in the last few years.

This was so much fun to record. And hard work as we were belting those Claire Richards adlibs at the end. Phew!

Deeper Shade of Blue

The fourth cover from my latest project '1999'. Not only was I a fan of Destiny's Child but also the song's producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins who has been a huge inspiration. It may also be one of my fave DC singles.
