Welcome to a brand new monthly feature on the Word Is Love show playing tribute to a number of special nights throughout our time across the world. You may have heard the Studio 54 & Paradise Garage tribute shows, now it's time for a modern take on this celebrating the legendary Disco sound of Glitterbox Ibiza. 

Just like Studio 54, Glitterbox holds a high standard when it comes to music policy and that is the subject of this mix, Glitterbox Classics.

As you can expect there are a number of well known artists on this mix with music by Chaka Khan, Jocelyn Brown, The Shapeshifters, Dave Lee, Folamour, Dimitri From Paris and Sister Sledge plus a whole lot more Classic action.

The mix is pure unadulterated Disco pleasure and is a tribute to Glitterbox Ibiza, enjoy!

Glitterbox Classics WIL107 - Chaka Khan,Jocelyn Brown,The Shapeshifters,Folamour,Dave Lee,Moloko

Samosa Funk is back on the Myhouse Radio menu with another awe-inspiring musical carnival from Les Inferno and DeGama 

First up, we have the boogie maestro himself, Les Inferno opening up the vaults and pulling out classics from the likes of Prince, Crown Heights Affair, Marz and Cameo. It’s another spectacular hour of crate digging and swagger from one of the best in the business. 

Continuing the funk shakedown for the second hour we have DeGama. This is a set which subverts expectations and is something quite different from him. A more eclectic and laid back vibe and featuring tracks that he absolutely loves, it’s a wonderful insight into DeGama’s taste buds. 

The boys have been busy with their regular Monday night gigs at Rome’s Hotel Butterfly on Gladiators Avenue, all we can say is we wish we were there with them. Instead, we’re more than happy to settle for two hours of stunning music played over the airwaves, delivered with that Samosa Funk panache.

Tony Wilson is a man who loves to create and play music. For over three decades he has thrilled crowds from around the globe with his soulful style of house music. He was influenced by some of today's house music legends like Tony Humphries, Shep Pettibone, Frankie Knuckles, and also the legendary Larry Levan (RIP), just to name a few. Tony grew up in the Bronx, NYC, an environment that was rich in all styles of music, which he flawlessly mixes in during his DJ sets. Tony has consistently displayed an insatiable appetite to flourish musically. Despite his early remix work and productions, he has decided to take a hiatus from the studio and dedicate the majority of his time musically behind the decks in clubs/radio mixshows around the globe. He also gives a huge part of his time by working with several non-profit organizations who provide assistance to the people in Africa who are suffering and struggling on a day-to-day basis. He has worked with a ton of organizations in Africa and was one of the first American DJs who helped put together huge AID concerts in Africa. Despite his rigorous DJ schedule, which he plays for thousands of people around the globe from Europe to Asia, he still plays with an unrivaled energy which gives him the desire to thrill and excite the people who come to hear him play. Tony will never be stagnant, but static, always trying to find a way to reinvent himself and redefine his DJ sets. When asked by one of many music magazine reporters, how would he like to be remembered after he retires from music, Tony said, and I quote, "he would like to be remembered as a man who always remained humble to his fans, gave all he had behind the decks, and always played with his heart and his soul", end quote.
