We recently came across DJ Ferdinand Debeaufort on Soundcloud and it’s safe to say that we were seriously impressed by both the quality of his work and also his sublime choice of tracks to edit. His work is packed with dancefloor soul.

We got Ferdinand straight in to do a mixtape for us so that he could showcase his undoubted skills and we also had a brief chat to him about his career so far and his approach to his work in the studio. Tony Wilson is a man who loves to create and play music. For over three decades he has thrilled crowds from around the globe with his soulful style of house music. He was influenced by some of today's house music legends like Tony Humphries, Shep Pettibone, Frankie Knuckles, and also the legendary Larry Levan (RIP), just to name a few. Tony grew up in the Bronx, NYC, an environment that was rich in all styles of music, which he flawlessly mixes in during his DJ sets. Tony has consistently displayed an insatiable appetite to flourish musically. Despite his early remix work and productions, he has decided to take a hiatus from the studio and dedicate the majority of his time musically behind the decks in clubs/radio mixshows around the globe. He also gives a huge part of his time by working with several non-profit organizations who provide assistance to the people in Africa who are suffering and struggling on a day-to-day basis. He has worked with a ton of organizations in Africa and was one of the first American DJs who helped put together huge AID concerts in Africa. Despite his rigorous DJ schedule, which he plays for thousands of people around the globe from Europe to Asia, he still plays with an unrivaled energy which gives him the desire to thrill and excite the people who come to hear him play. Tony will never be stagnant, but static, always trying to find a way to reinvent himself and redefine his DJ sets. When asked by one of many music magazine reporters, how would he like to be remembered after he retires from music, Tony said, and I quote, "he would like to be remembered as a man who always remained humble to his fans, gave all he had behind the decks, and always played with his heart and his soul", end quote.

Based out of Eugene, Oregon, Rortron started DJing and producing at the beginning of 2018. It was after getting laid off from his job that he decided to purchase a controller and start learning how to mix. Since then, he has fallen in love with providing good vibes on the dance floor and in your headphones and home speakers. He has DJ’d all over his hometown at places like The Big Dirty, Sam Bond’s, Cowfish, Thinking Tree Spirits, and many others.

His enthusiasm for dancing and appreciating amazing shows has shaped him to always make his sets and performances memorable. He realizes it’s about the people in the crowd and creating a selection of hospitable vibes that invite you to come back for more.

Rortron is the kind of guy you can feel comfortable introducing to your parents. He is always moving and smiling when he DJ’s. He will never be pretentious and patronizing to anyone who comes to his shows or listens to his mixes and music. He always shows love to the sound, security, bookers, and bartenders. Always the consummate professional, he is keenly aware that people come to shake their asses and have a good time. He is eternally grateful for the opportunity to DJ and spread joy.
