Linda Pira & Allyawan - Bish Ja E Baws (Uncle Montana Bootleg)

I recently dug out "Inspiration Information" and had a listen to it again and after repeat listening, I got an idea of using "Island Letter" for an edit or something of the sorts. I had a little session with it on the decks where I found that it sort of worked nicely under groove of the Mystic Dub of Joyce Muniz' excellent "Drop In Pressure".

After working out the kinks of key-clashing moments and a few other things I did a couple of adjustments and sorted out an arrangement that would work with both tracks and this is the end result.  Much love to both Shuggie Otis and Joyce Muniz @joytoy.

Shuggie Otis - Island Letter (Uncle Montana's Mystic Pressure Edit)

As soon as I bought the Svensk Bas vol 3. EP I fell in love with the original. However, I don't play juke that much so I needed a version that I could work in my sets at the tempo I play at generally. The problem with slowing down juke is that it doesn't give the proper aural impact as you want. So I did like always do, found some elements in other tracks that went with it to add them as layers.

Shout out to Marcus Price, Henry Rodrick & the Svensk Bas crew and Paula Temple, Shinedoe & Irradiation as part of their works are as much a part of this.

Marcus Price & Henry Rodrick - I Know U Know (Uncle Montana 133 Refix)

When I heard "Dooms" (https://soundcloud.com/coopcompilation/sky-h1-ssaliva-dooms) by @Sky_H1 & @Ssaliva from the Co-op Compilation (https://soundcloud.com/coopcompilation/sets/co-op) I fell in love instantly. The vibe of that track captured exactly what I used to love in the melodics of older trance records. It was beautiful on its own but I knew that I was to use it in my trance-sets. Thus forth I started going over which records it could work over or with and I found a few good matches.

This combination was the one that worked the best and it is with Attica "Cyber Girl" (Mara Dub) released in 2003 on Plastic Fantastic. A lovely Progressive Trance burner that I used to bum for a bit but much faster as some of those older progressive trance records used to be at slower tempos than the 135-142 bpm that I used to play for trance.

When I pitched up Cyber Girl two semitones the two tracks were in key and matched perfectly. I did have to do some nips and tucks for Cyber Girl so I took a few bars out and added a stronger beat to it to hold down the track. Enjoy.

Faydee feat. Leftside - Habibi Albi (Uncle Montana Thong Song Blend)

Reggaeton Refix of a childhood favourite. The melody that this track uses is a classic in most of the Levant countries as it's known from the Iraqi folk song "Shlonak 3aini Shlonak". Ibo's Turkish rendition is one that I heard equally as much as Shlonak. 

Thusforth I wanted to take this track into the clubs as well. And make it playable in the clubs as the original was mixed down with too much reverb and little lower end. The drums & the bass line originally sounded really thin so it needed a serious boost to get it to work.

Classic Minneapolis-R&B on a newer slightly forgotten poppy dancehall-cut from Kyla & Popcaan. I got inspired to do something with the vocal of The S.O.S. Band a few weeks ago as I love it.
