If you were looking for one last club weapon to sign off 2021 in style then look no further, as Mark Knight’s popular imprint label Toolroom Trax is set to deliver the goods you want. With 2022 just around the corner, Belgian DJ & producer Siege has partnered up with one of New York City’s finest, DJ Boris to drop a slice of Tech House that will undoubtedly soundtrack your dance floor movements as we roll into the new year.

With both artists being Toolroom veterans in their own right, ‘DJ Boris’ makes his welcome return to the label since his 2019 release ‘What We Need’. Siege on the other hand, has had a busy year with releases on both Toolroom & Trax from the feel-good Disco hit ‘Reach Out’ to his collab with poet Maia Mayor ‘Monster’.

The pair are dialling up the heat on this one, as Siege & DJ Boris are set to take you on a deep ‘Journey’ with their latest Trax offering. A heavy hitter from the get-go, ‘Journey’ is a solid cut of club focused House that packs a punch.

Featuring a signature thumping groove and rolling Tech House bass line that the pair are known for, Siege & DJ Boris build the record around a lush vocal sample repeating the line - ‘let me take you on a journey’. Layered with synthesised bleeps and bloops that fittingly squeeze in around the track, creating a powerful club weapon to round 2021 off in style. It’s clear that it’s all about the music on this one, with Siege & DJ Boris staying true to that sentiment.

Two of our Toolroom Academy graduates grace Trax this December with Fletcher Kerr and KEFFI teaming up to deliver the ‘Olhar’ EP. Both hailing from Scotland, Fletcher who enrolled in the Toolroom Academy's Production Certificate course and later, the more advanced Masterclass course joins forces with fellow Scot, KEFFI who also enlisted on the Production Certificate course to bring you an EP that was first born out of one of the legendary Toolroom writing camps earlier this year.

Their debut collaboration together, the ‘Olhar’ EP looks set to shake up the club in no time, offering two cuts of Trax goodness with lead title, ‘Olhar’ infusing elements of M.O.D.’s classic ‘Moonshine’ to bring it into the 2020’s with a fresh twist on the 90’s classic, followed by Tech House stomper, ‘Impossible Beat’ which combines the duo’s moniker high energy sound with bags of soul and groove thrown in for good measure.

Toolroom Trax returns with another slice of Tech House fire, this time born out of a brand new multi-artist collaboration. In fact, TRX270 marks a special moment for the Toolroom Academy, the label’s boutique educational division. ‘Delirio’ is the result of five graduates meeting through our renowned production programme, forming new creative connections, and then producing the kind of club-ready underground music that Toolroom stands for. 

Each of these five new artists are making major moves. KEFFI has been on a blistering run of releases with Toolroom, with his Latin and percussive sound making waves across global dancefloors and being played by label boss Mark Knight and rising star Crusy. Germany based Alex Lauthals has seen huge releases on seminal label Kittball, whilst Altere, HARRT and Loz Seka were earmarked as ones to watch on the recent ‘Leaders Of The New School’ compilation on Toolroom. ‘Delirio’ was made over one long weekend in London, inspired by the group’s collective visit to Toolroom’s summer party at Studio 338. 

With thick, chunky drums and an infectious bumpy groove ‘Delirio’ has production sophistication with original latin inspired vocals, and cleverly used vocal chop hooks. ‘Delirio’ is set to uplift the dancefloor.

Jewel Kid has been on a complete ride so far this 2023 and is now releasing debut Toolroom Trax single ‘Feel This’. DJ/Producer, Jewel Kid had taken a short hiatus from releasing music, but the Maltese maestro returns with a complete resurgence of brand-new music and accomplished new sounds ready for dancefloors, clubs and festivals this summer.

With releases already on respected labels such as ABODE Records, Glasgow Underground, Incorrect and his record ‘Hold Up’ that was released exclusively on the ‘Toolroom Miami 2023’ compilation, it’s fair to say that the whole dance scene is glad to see Jewel Kid return for 2023.
