Back on the firm is none other than label founder Mark Knight, with studio cohort and DJs favourite James Hurr, as they take on one of House music’s all-time classic records; ‘Lady (Hear Me Tonight)’ on Toolroom. No messing around, Mark and James offer up an alternative take to this stone cold classic, bringing the infectious vocal and iconic guitar riff to the forefront, mixing into a signature Mark Knight club heavy beat. 

Having previously collaborated on ‘Make You Happy’ with Todd Terry and last year’s ‘You Are A God’ with vocalist Cari Golden, Mark Knight and James Hurr are fast becoming a killer duo in the studio, and throughout the scene. For their next outing, the pair offer up a killer reinterpretation of legendary House classic ‘Lady (Hear Me Tonight)’ by French House duo Modjo, a record which transcended the boundaries of dance music back in the early 2000’s and has since become a record synonymous with the era. 

True to form, Mark Knight and James Hurr mix their musical prowess together and deliver yet another stomping hit for the clubs!

Summer is well and truly underway as we roll into August, and landing back on Toolroom for our next release is Sydney native Alex Preston who returns with his chunky groover ‘It’s Not Over’.

Back on the firm the DJ, producer, guitar enthusiast and label owner of his Basement Sound imprint, Alex Preston has built a solid reputation on the dance floor, with his signature blend of feel-good Disco, House, and Funk styles. 

Having scored success with his 2021 summertime hit single ‘Love You Better’ which has recently hit 5 million streams alone on Spotify, Alex Preston cemented his status as a prolific and solid songwriter. ‘It’s Not Over’ itself is a chunky Disco focused groove, cut with choppy Rhodes keys, slick guitar licks and that seminal First Choice acappella to add that classic house feel. Italian born DJ and producer, CASSIMM is back on Toolroom with a straight up club weapon! After laying down the delicious disco number last year called ‘Get On The Funk’ with Kid Enigma, this follows suit perfectly and fuses chunky beats, disco licks and has Bruno Blanc sharing some sentimental lyrics about how important house music is to all of us.

Pioneering producers Bob Sinclar, A-Trak and Melé join forces for a reimagining of the 2022 Defected release ‘Deep Inside Of Me’. Chris Le Friant AKA Bob Sinclar previously collaborated with Grammy-nominated Canadian producer and one half of Duck Sauce, A-Trak, for ‘Deep Inside Of Me’ last year - now British house innovator and choice selector Melé joins the fold to give the production a modern twist. Together the three artists have been at the forefront of various electronic scenes over three decades, producing some of the finest house tracks in every DJs record box: Sinclar rose to prominence in the late 90’s, A-Trak in the late noughties, and Melé within the last decade. An international and generational collaboration, ‘Deep Inside Of Me’ begins with DIY timbres and complex patterns looped to create a sonic lesson in polyrhythms – what follows is a synth pad bridge that cushions the fall from the percussive drops of before; the combined talents of the acclaimed producers come together in a blissful haze before the almighty climax crashes down.

Following his recent collab ‘Attracted’ alongside Crusy, French artist Tony Romera is back on Toolroom with another slice of Tech House fire. 

Tony Romera first stepped onto the scene 10 years ago as a fresh-faced 20 year old looking to make waves and disrupt the electronic music world with his unique style and French-house inspired beats.

Since then he's been busy releasing music and experimenting with different sounds and styles, putting out music on a range of powerhouse labels and gaining support from the likes of Diplo, Fisher, Chris Lake, Mark Knight, DJ Snake, Skrillex, Tiesto, Porter Robinson, Fatboy Slim, Deadmau5, Kaskade, Vintage Culture, Claptone, Adam Beyer and many more. 

His remix of Julio Navas, Gustavo Bravetti and David Amo’s ‘Raw’ was one of Toolroom’s biggest tracks of 2022, picking up support from Fisher, LP Giobbi, Gordo and Carl Cox to name just a few. In the last few years Tony has become an integral part of the Toolroom family, and now returns to the label with his latest single ‘House Y’all’.

Italy’s Piero Pirupa brings the dancefloor heat with his latest disco-tinged single ‘Party’.
