The duo remoulds the bassline and transforms it into a refreshingly funky sub-line that sits underneath the track and bounces between the bouncing rhythms in the choppy piano stabs.

The pair create a versatile track that is easily envisioned to be blasting out on a sunset-soaked boat party on the coast of Ibiza or equally; hoofing out of a sound system in the basement of a packed-out Glaswegian club at 5 am.

„Back in the days everyone said my music was weird - All the young guys were deejaying electro and described my style as girly or whatever - It was hard for me to get booked at the beginning but I always had that love for soulful and real house music and for the roots of this genre. Luckily we are discovering a revival now and real house music is back everywhere“ said 27 year old house Music Producer and Deejay Marvin Aloys.

Rounding off the year in true Toolroom fashion, head honcho Mark Knight steps up to deliver the latest instalment of his popular ‘Bullets’ series, with Vol. 5. Picking up where Vol. 4 left off, ‘Bullets Vol. 5’ features fresh new collaborations with two of Mark’s favourite DJ’s and producers out there right now, Mason & James Hurr. After the release of seminal debut album ‘Untold Business’ earlier this year, Mark Knight has fully immersed himself back into his roots as both a DJ & a producer, sharing his love for Disco, Funk & Soul which has influenced his club heavy sound.

Kicking things off with the sure-fire revision of Mason’s ‘Givin’ Up’, which dropped on Animal Language earlier this year. Having loved Mason’s origjnal, Mark Knight took the vocal melody and completely reworked the original to create an all new, tougher version perfect for the clubs. Pushing the record into club territory, the record boasts a rock solid groove but with a sense of nostalgia. It’s funky Guitar chops and delicious vocal hook, this one sits right on the cusp between House and Disco, and it’s one you know the Toolroom boss man himself will be dropping at every opportunity.

Up next is Mark’s collab ‘Movin’ with the exceptionally talented producer James Hurr, and it’s a record aimed for the dance floor. The record features the super talented vocalist Laura Davie who steps up to deliver a stellar, soul inspired vocal performance that ties the record together. You know this is a special collection of records as Mark Knight brings the EP to close, the selector has dropped a fresh slice of his current sound, showcasing everything his popular Bullets series represents.

Angie Brown said: “I got a phone call from Rollover Studios inviting me to come in to the studio and collaborate with the fantastic producer, Ollie Jacobs. We put a date in the diary and I turned up listened to a huge sounding instrumental. We came up with an idea of “breathing life in to me” and “bringing me higher love” and we settled on a title ‘Higher’. I loved working with the guys they made me feel at home. I’m very excited we’re releasing the record on one of the world’s foremost cutting-edge dance record labels, Champion.”

Ollie and Paul from Beyond Therapy both found their love for dance music through the early ‘90s rave scene. Uplifting pianos and breaks were the music that united the UK. No longer were people going out fighting but coming together and finding new meaning in life. With these unprecedented times Ollie and Paul wanted to make music that made people feel inspired and positive as music did back in the 90s. 'Higher' is an authentic look back at when times were simpler.
