Ben Rau, the Berlin-based maestro of house music and infectious beats comes fresh off the back of his recent BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix with a brand new two track single on his own META imprint.

Emerging from the German underground scene, Rau's sound blends hypnotic rhythms with melodic depth. With releases on labels like Knee Deep In Sound, Eastenderz, DFTD and Kaoz Theory, he's established himself as a leading figure in the global house music community.

A pair of warm and bouncing happy house cuts are delivered on the ‘Lemme Talk To Ya’ single, each one bristling with Rau’s delectable grooves and deft musical touches.

Ben Rau inaugurates PIV’s new PIV Club sub-label this October with his new EP ‘Back To The Underground / Energy’.

Over the past decade, Berlin-based producer and DJ , Ben Rau, has risen up the ranks to become one of the undergrounds most prized artists, steadily unveiling hard hitting dance floor cuts for the likes of beloved imprints such as Kaoz Theory, Eastenderz, Fuse and of course his very own Inkal and Meta labels. Here though, he joins forces with the powerhouse Amsterdam part and record label PIV, to launch its new sub-label, entitled PIV Club and as the name would suggest delivering club ready hits carefully crafted for those magic moments.

Up first on the package is the ‘Back To The Underground’, a raw slice of classic House music employing many tropes that lie at the roots of the genre, from crunchy swinging drum break and an amalgamation of intricately intertwined piano lines, acid licks, and stab sequences, all underpinned by a spoken world vocal which ebbs and flows throughout the groove.

‘Energy’ follows, an apt title for the near six minute excursion which fuses ethereal textures, twinkling synth melodies and a vocoder vocal uttering the track’s title, while squelchy acid bass and tension building strings further fuel the dynamic groove alongside a robust drum workout.

Originally released in 1998 with Danny Tenaglia, “Music Is The Answer” by Celeda is one of the defining tracks of the late ’90s club scene. In this AfroTech rework, I kept the legendary vocal and built a fresh groove around it, blending hypnotic percussion and Afro House textures — bringing modern energy while honoring the timeless spirit of the classic.
