The second release in our Anniversary Remixes campaign sees one of our most iconic tracks, ‘Downpipe’, reinterpreted by the world’s No.1 DJ Armin van Buuren, Techno veteran Adrian Hour and new kid on the block Bontan.

‘Downpipe’, the collaboration between our label leader, Mark Knight, master of production, D.Ramirez, and legends of dance music, Underworld, is a landmark track in the history of Toolroom Records. Crowned Essential New Tune on Radio 1 by Pete Tong and forming an integral part of the soundtrack to the opening ceremony of the London Olympics last year, it is still receiving overwhelming support today.

Heading up The Anniversary Remixes of ‘Downpipe’, superstar DJ Armin van Buuren delivers up a euphoric, unstoppable, big room remix that is set to take to the throne & join the original. 
Adrian Hour presents a techno workout that is completely relentless, energetic from the off the intensity doesn’t let up resulting in a peak time gem for the underground. His influence unquestionable across dance music’s landscape; electronic music heavy weight Fedde Le Grand returns to Toolroom, with his rootsy House anthem ‘Liquid Music’. A classic organ hook drives the track, with vocals appreciative of the genre, all wrapped up with Fedde’s unmistakable production.

No stranger to Toolroom, Fedde has been instrumental in the labels 20 year journey – with classic  singles, mix compilations, live performances and of course his seminal remix of Coldplay ‘Paradise’ released on Toolroom in 2011. It’s an honour to welcome him back to the label.

Toolroom Trax’s very own Danny Rhys is back on the label he lives and breathes, but this time, he’s not flying solo. He’s teamed up with rising star Loz Seka and together they’ve worked up a peak time banger.

Now if you know anything about Toolroom, you’ll know Danny Rhys is more than just a producer. A&R for both Toolroom Trax and Strangelove, the producer behind Toolroom Radio, and Mark Knight’s Friday Night KISS show, one of the UK’s biggest radio stations. It was only a matter of time before these two came together, both sharing a passion for Latin and percussive rhythms that makes this collaboration feel very natural. You’ve also heard Loz Seka’s name across BBC Radio 1, with regular props from Arielle Free and BBC Introducing as he starts to become a household name on the station.

Striking a perfect balance of commercial songwriting, whilst maintaining the tracks deep routed club sensibilities, ‘Rush’ has become this year’s sleeper hit that everyone’s asking for. Allan Nunez makes a statement debut on Toolroom Trax with ‘Chorro de Agua’, a Latin House workout with rich, authentic sounds straight from the heart of South America. 

At the core of the production is a beautifully re-imagined sample from Gaiteros de Pueblo Santo, a traditional Columbian ensemble known for their raw, percussive sound and folkloric storytelling. And to lean deeper into their Latin roots, Allan brings in the unmistakable voice of Cumbia Queen, a seasoned South American vocalist whose voice carries generations of authenticity. 

‘Chorro de Agua’ respects the source material while giving it new life for the dancefloor, balancing driving house beats with layers of live instrumentation and percussion. A track that hits hard in the club, but still honours the spirit of Latin music.
