This week MalLabel Music has another tag team insta-classic for you as Humboldt County California's, Stereo Serum and Vancouver, Washington's, Too Much team up to bring you an EP of experimental new heights in glitch and beauty.

Even since having just a guitar, amp, and a distortion pedal/drum machine in high school, Stereo Serum was already experimenting with whatever sounds he could push out of them. Once he found Arcata's bass music scene upon reaching college he found himself a use for all the experimentalism and got to work creating a new flavor of rich, textured dubstep for space travellers with an old school vibe. Meanwhile in the far Northwest, Too Much wasn't giving much care to the standard EDM idea and spent most of his time finding more ways to break it and make a rhythm out of the pieces. Expect jazzy vibes born of many pretty glitches and expert segues from very different emotional journeys to the next.

When two artists with such a strong focus on the innovative get together it's always a treat to see whether us mere mortals will even be able to comprehend the ensuing artistic collision. Sometimes however, their visions are so complimentary the resulting nova is nothing short of magical. Dim Mirror is a fine example of this union becoming a joyride through time and space with no two beautiful and glitchy bars alike. Alongside the EP they have recruited a couple alien visitors, Spiritualeyes and AliEn LOuNge to round off the EP with some more otherworldly vibes. Let the space traveller in you loose and take off.

Today we introduce our second album release with a percussion-packed project and mood-driven melodies.

Too Much is a beautiful artist who trying to share his passion for trippy music. The Vancouver-bred producer likes to take his time to explore multi-genre sounds and fuse together his creations with a particular technique that feels unmatched.

For his debut release with us, Too Much gives us a collection of four tracks that provide the perfect balance between future beats and lo-fi vibes. Backed behind a variety of influences, this album is perfectly stitched together with rolling bass lines, progressive melodies, future elements and an eclectic array of captivating vocals including a collaboration with the rapper/singer Knowuh. Too Much creates precise, smoothly woven stories of love and struggle in all melodies maintained by his laid back flow and steady rhythms.

Aura takes us on a journey through Too Much's memories of past loves, exercising four different experiences to put his emotions into every harmony.

With a classic feel and contemporary blend, this EP will undoubtedly be on repeat time and time again.

"I started this project with Gold Prospector as a way to express the soft and chill side of my sound. Thomas has graciously giving me a chance to showcase my growth through his platform, and for that I am super grateful. The first track I wrote for this EP was Violet Aura. I associate a lot of music with colors and that track just screamed violet to me for whatever reason. At that point, I decided to stick with the color theme. I've always been a fan of concept albums so a lot of my work is all thematically relevant to something. In this case, colors. Violet Aura was heavily modeled after my track "Maya" that I released a few months back. I like that style quite a bit so I wanted to emulate it once more before I moved on to something else. I don't like to dwell on specific styles too long as I find that boring for myself. No offense to anyone that does at all, I think I just have a short attention span lol. I then wrote Jade Aura. That track was specifically influenced by a lot of work done by Night Owl Collective, as well as Gold Prospector themselves. Vocal chopping is something that I've always struggled with so I made it the focus of this one. Well that one specific vocal sample I use in Jade, I ended up using in all the tracks except for Gold Aura. I figured that thematically, it fit well. Gold Aura was written as a soft outro at first. I had been talking to Knowuh for a little while at that point and we had wanted to work together. It hit me randomly that Gold Aura would sound really cool with some indie-style vocals laid on top! So I sent it over and Knowuh sent back stems for the vocals within a few hours. They sounded so good too! We ended up finishing that one pretty quick. Azure Aura was ironically the last track I wrote for the EP. That one is directly influenced by Audiobot's "Remember" which was also released through Night Owl Collective. Anyone who's heard that song can probably tell lol. Anyways, hope you all enjoy the EP. Much love everyone <3" - Too Much
