Professor P and DJ Akilles are a critically acclaimed hip-hop duo from Uppsala, Sweden. Since 2006 they have been a significant part of the Scandinavian music scene and they have received worldwide attention with their vinyl EP "Maintain" (2010) and their full-length album "The Realism" (2012). With well-rehearsed live shows filled with unexpected features and crowd pleasing surprises, Pro & Ak have become famous for controlling the stage. They have supported legendary hip-hop acts like De La Soul, D.I.T.C., and Talib Kweli and are frequently booked around Scandinavia.

"Brews and Good News" is a 6 track EP recorded in Uppsala, Sweden and in New York, USA. All songs are produced and arranged by Professor P & DJ Akilles and feature artists such as legendary D.I.T.C. member A.G. (of Showbiz & A.G.), Los Angeles' own Blu (of Blu &Exile) along with Scandinavian talents Gracias (Finland) and Felix De Luca (Denmark).
Musically the key components are dope beats, fresh rhymes and ill cuts. Add just the right amount of simplicity, a lot of soul, and some carefully picked drumbreaks and you have the Pro & Ak formula to make your head nod.

3 years ago I stayed some month in London working for DJ Vadim. Around the time we did a little box set with for Jakarta Records together with hhv.de and we did an exclusive 7" for it featuring a song by Vadim's by then new group The Electric. I asked Markus Ganter who I studied with in Mannheim back then and who played Bass for Blitz The Ambassador on some of his first Euro gigs whether he would be up to do a remix for the flip. Fast forward 3 years: Markus Ganter now is one of the most in demand German producers recently having produced the albums of Casper, Sizarr and Muso. Time flies but his remix of "You Are Diamonds" still sounds crisp even though it was done 3 years ago.

I found a handful of copies some days ago while cleaning up the office. Limited to 111 copies.

Brian Brown, Nashville’s self-proclaimed “Stoop Kid”, drops his debut album Journey today. What started as an idea for a day in the life slowly transformed into a project that reflected his life in the years following his first mixtape 7:22, which was released in 2014. 
“I’m a believer that if I haven’t been through anything, if I haven’t lived through anything, then what is there to talk about?” said Brian Brown. “Journey is all of the moments that I’ve been going through - the trials and tribulations, the hurt, loss and heartache.” 

Brian’s southern drawl serenades a range of emotions over soulful melodies on each track. “Flava”, for example, is a true story about strutting down Nashville’s Broadway and feeling good after a fresh haircut, until he noticed a homeless man being passed by everyone walking. “That song is the album in a nutshell, the growing pains and the vices,” said Brown. 

On the other hand, “Stay” was simply inspired by the need for a fly love song and features Johnson City’s Lul Lion, who is a good friend of Brown, who is featured in her debut album. In fact, many who contributed to this album are friends of his, including Reaux Marquez, OGTHAGAWD and D. Sanders
