Original Cultures and Zooo Print & Press are proud to present the second release in the Zoooriginals series of collaborative, limited-edition picture 7" vinyl releases. 

The concept is simple: Two musicians, one side each. One visual artist, two sides. All exclusive, never before seen or heard. Limited edition 7" vinyl run. No digital. Once it's gone, it's gone. 

Following the series' debut in November 2012 with Japanese musicians Daisuke Tanabe and Jealousguy and Italian artist Ericailcane, we continue with another international meeting of artistic minds including one Italian, two Frenchmen and an American. The music on #2 is handled by Katzuma - who took part in Original Cultures' 2010 production From Inner Space - and Souleance - the French duo of Fulgeance and Soulist, with whom we've been good friends for a while. The artwork this time is handled by David Ellis, a New York-based visual artist with a long string of works and collaborations to his name.

The music is house and disco. The artwork is explosive. 

All Night by Katzuma is a classic slice of pure house from the Italian master. Lush percussions, sunny keys, a driving groove, an inviting voice and chants of ecstasy and happiness. Hands in the air business. An extended version of this track will be available as a free download to enjoy in its intended original glory. 

Vacances by Souleance takes a more modern approach, but remains equally dancefloor friendly. A staggering groove, chopped up samples, a bodily bass line. Time to drop it all and escape. 

The artwork by David Ellis is psychedelic, featuring an explosion on one side and intertwined tubes on the other. We think it's fitting. 

Zoooriginals #2 will be available as a double-sided picture 7" in a clear, see-through sleeve with sticker detailing credits.

IMYRMIND debuts on Tartelet with a four-tracker ranging from banging MPC techno to contagious Latin house and laidback jazzy wonk.

After finishing a degree in architecture and relocating to Berlin earlier this year, IMYRMIND stepped up his game with the release of his solo debut on Astro & Graef’s Money $ex imprint. This November will see the release of the beat-smiths second solo venture on Tartelet Records.

The opening track ‘Tong Po’ is IMYRMIND’s take on techno, inspired by the villain from Jean Claude Van Damme’s 1989 cult classic Kickboxer. A heavy pitched kick drum, fuzzy melodies with generous use of tape delay and a badass bass line dropping around the three-minute mark makes this a peak time candidate.
‘Wanja 9000’ slows down the pace. Dusty Jazz samples and wonky beats with sloppy turntable cuts add a nice live feel to the track. 

On the b-side ‘Upturn’ sets the mood with classic salsa percussion infused with an epic brass and piano hook that could very well stem from the infamous Palmieri brothers or one of their contemporaries. Embrace your inner Latino and follow your hips.
The last track of the record ‘Number Seven’ completes the circle with venturous drum programming, layered melodies and plenty of “early morning ambiance”. 

IMYRMIND is scheduled for a three-week Australia, NZ and Asia tour in November alongside long-time collaborator Glenn Astro.

Already touring extensively thoughout their native France, Rive Gauche is a new live and studio project fronted by Alexandre Destrez, pianist of Saint Germain’s
albums (Tourist & Boulevard).
Fans of Saint Germain’s two stunning albums on Blue Note will be pleased to know that the debut single from Rive Gauche is very much in the same vein.
Smooth jazz grooves, seductive trumpet licks and smokey vocals are the order of the day here, laid over subtle electronic touches and solid beats. First up on remix duties, genre-hopping production maestro Simbad supplies an uptempo and fun jazz-house workout guaranteed to move a dancefloor (DJs should probably practise miming the ‘rewind’). Last but no means least, radio presenter and champion of quality music of almost all shades, Gilles Peterson takes the helm for the second remix. His multifaceted interpretation blends latin jazz vibes with Amen Break sampling drum’n’bass beats, somehow remaining delicate and floaty throughout. Creative and brilliantly realised, we can’t wait to hear what’s next from Rive Gauche.
