Lagartijeando has produced a very special EP with a choir from an indigenous tribe called Coro Qom Chelaalapi.  The choir formed as a means of passing down their culture to future generations in the absence of any formal records. They have been declared a living cultural heritage by UNESCO. Blending traditional songs with brooding beats and big grooves, The Revisión EP is a unique and special collaboration exploring the tribe’s rich musical heritage with contemporary production.

The original songs have a mythology and their bespoke instruments have deep significances. The nivike is a single string violin (representing the sounds made by a jaguar sharpening its claws on a tree trunk) and was used as a form of communication to contact loved ones or to find love amongst the mountain dwellers.

Antiguos Dueños De Las Flechas (Ancient Owner Of Arrows); the dark brooding bass and haunting vocals tell the sad story of the Spanish conquistadores destroying local tribes’ agriculture & way of life.

Sydney/Copenhagen/NY-based artist Kythira releases Change My Mind - an authentically honest taste of jangly pop from her upcoming tape Cut Through.

Kythira is the project of nomadic musician Alyssa Gengos, named after the Greek island of the same name (Κύθηρα). Change My Mind is a perfect representation of the record - addictive guitar pop that’s straight to the point with little more than a drum machine and cheap casiotone to accompany Alyssa’s incredibly catchy vocal hooks.

Self-produced on her laptop while moving around between Sydney, LA and Copenhagen, Cut Through follows up her synth-driven EP Soon, I Promise released back in January 2018. The tape is a stunning bedroom pop release, sure to appeal to fans of Fazerdaze or Best Coast.

Change My Mind is out April 10th. It is taken from Kythira’s debut tape Cut Through, released by Healthy Tapes digitally and on limited cassette on May 30th.
