"This is “Arribada Tides: The Birth of King Tortuga,” the first song off of our upcoming album Tortuga. We’d like to think this song is a perfect introduction to what we do as Minor Plains… there’s beautiful chiming cleans, frantic riffing and bone-crushing heaviness all melted down and mixed together with a dash of the strange for good measure. Think of it as our intro theme (like we are a WWE wrestler or an 80’s sitcom) and get lost in the sonic waves. Arribada is Spanish for “arrival” and refers to the synchronized phenomena when hundreds of thousands of sea turtles return to shore to lay their eggs, once we found our song title we knew we had the perfect opening song for the record and the birth of our albums name sake, King Tortuga. Our record was recorded, mixed and mastered by Stephan Hawkes at Interlace Audio and our album art was designed by Bradley James Lockhart at Lariat Creative, without their professional genius, we wouldn’t have the awesome mutant music baby that we are sharing with you now."
