Проект «Вася Обломов» появился в мае 2010 года, когда в интернете обнаружилось и получило вирусное распространение анимационное видео «Магадан». «Обломовым» оказался Василий Гончаров, лидер брит-поп-группы «Чебоза», а песня «Магадан» была во многом автобиографичной: «Чебоза» выпустила три альбома и один ЕР, но известность получило только их комическое аудиописьмо Дмитрию Маликову, пародирующее дуэт Эминема и Дайдо.
 
«Магадан» по сути был жалобой на народное дурновкусие, но, поскольку песня была выполнена в жанре псевдошансона, то часть публики приняла его за чистую монету, а другая часть – за остроумный стеб. Как бы то ни было, «Магадан» получил «Песню года», попал в саундтрек новогоднего фильма Тимура Бекмамбетова «Елки» и был показан на Первом канале.
 
После этого Гончаров законсервировал «Чебозу» и сосредоточился на «Обломове», который сразу получил много гастрольных ангажементов. За «Магаданом» последовали «Кто хочет стать милиционером?» и «С чего начинается Родина». Стебный жанр позволил Василию поднимать острые вопросы современности, которые практически перестали затрагивать рокеры. Постепенно певец – возможно, сам того не желая, – стал считаться одним из лидеров протестной музыки. В декабре 2011-го он выступил на митинге на проспекте Сахарова, а в мае 2012-го посетил лагерь оппозиции «Оккупай Абай» на Чистых Прудах.
 
Летом 2011 года вышел первый альбом Васи Обломова «Повести и рассказы». Название диска (как, кстати, и псевдоним Васи) связано с его настоящей фамилией и навеяно творчеством писателя Гончарова.
 
Дисков с тех пор Вася не выпускал, но почти каждое его появление в публичном пространстве становилось интернет-событием: в ролике «УГ» снялся Михаил Ефремов, в «Письме счастья» - Баста, Максим Виторган и Сергей Минаев, а «Начальник» написан на слова Лео Каганова. Кроме того, совместно с Сергеем Шнуровым и Noize MC Обломов записал одну из версий песни «Любит наш народ».
 
Последней громкой акцией Васи Обломова стала музыкально-политическая коллаборация с Ксенией Собчак и Леонидом Парфеновым. Вместе с топовыми телеведущими Вася записал два ядовитых аудиопослания в стиле рэп: первое было адресовано Дмитрию Медведеву, второе - Владимиру Путину.

Mayan Warrior is the result of a collaborative project that has united artists, craftsmen, photographers, designers, technologists, architects and musicians from Mexico City and Northern California. 

The project’s original intent was to present to the world the incredible ascent of contemporary Mexican electronic music while paying respect to the deep and ancient sources from which that visual and auditory culture had grown.


Both light and sound are curated by some of the world’s most prominent artists to transport participants to the very origins of the culture – and to a new understanding of contemporary electronic expression.

AND YES: Mayan Warrior is driven from Mexico City to the playa – and back – each year. It's a labor of love and we're glad so many people enjoy it.

Afterhour Sounds is since his begining in 2012 a crew of music lovers, music makers and music supporters. What started as an small idea developed over the years into an important institution in the field of electronic dance in and beyond germany. Our goal was and still is to enrich the world with different interpretations of the afterhour. 

In the beginning, we focused our passion on finding and supporting (un)known artists through blog posts, reposts and podcast contributions. Gradually, we expanded our sections to include live recordings and premieres. In-house releases and events were not long in coming. The crew changed, but the passion and spirit remained.

In addition to his function as a DJ, he is the owner of the label & podcast series KataHaifisch, a party organizer and a link for musicians of all kinds.
