@Boxedldn cohort and frontrunner of the current instrumental grime cavalry, @iglew92 has carved out a unique space for himself in the scene. Having previously dug his heels onto Mr Mitch’s Gobstopper Records with the atmospheric ‘Urban Myth’ EP, the Leeds-based producer has a knack for mining the melancholic, experimental side of the genre. Now appearing on a new collaborative Boxed EP, alongside Logos, Spooky, Boylan and Jawside, his contribution — in the form of ‘Lullaby’ — sees him take some stabbing horn synths and use them as an aural battering ram. He’s now packaged up a brand new mix for our series, that takes a load of his own coveted bootlegs and reworks (including a ‘ReLiff’-ed version of Capo Lee’s ‘Liff’) and positioned them next to a bunch of glistening instrumentals and off-the-hook vocal cuts.

Five years after releasing the widely feted UK underground classic Cold Mission, Logos returns with his second solo album, Imperial Flood

Written between 2015 and 2018 Imperial Flood is an exploration of dark and altered pastoral material, drawing on the trance-inducing agrarian topography of eastern England interpolated through modern speculative literature including writing by Jeff VanderMeer, Christopher Priest, Lando and JG Ballard, via influences as diverse as the Erosion and Chain Reaction back catalogues, experimental computer music and the late-90s drum and bass minimalism of Photek, Digital and Spirit. 

The album includes a new collaboration with long-standing production partner Mumdance and will be released on Different Circles, on vinyl and digital formats on 12 April 2019

We reckon Sheffield-based producer Utah? found his spiritual home on Coyote Records. Much like the killer London label, his music gravitates around emotional, impactful soundscapes, swirling with metallic motifs and weighty low-end pressure.

His latest, a four-tracker appropriately titled ‘Bronze’, demonstrates Utah?’s flair for cinematic, imaginative material that tranfixes you much like material shared by fellow Coyote mainstays Silk Road Assassins and Last Japan. Today, we’re delighted to be premiering the project's title track, but if we’re honest, we could have picked them all.
