Our German buddy Soundslogic returns back to PHW this week with another crisp selection of melodic progressive house music. The young producer is as a lot of you already know one of the most promising names on the scene, and we love every time we get the chance to push him. 

The title track “Memories” is truly warm melodic production, filled with all the elements that Soundslogic is all about, rich melodies, warm bass lines and the rolling grooves that put a smile on the faces of everyone. It’s another gorgeous one from Felix, with a slightly more relaxed feel and we absolutely love it from start to finish.

On remix duty for this track, we see a welcome return from one of our favorites this past year, as Bratislava and Slovakia based producer Sollito returns to us for another sensational interpretation on the label. With a string of releases reaching into the playlist of ABGT in recent months, he’s one of those producers building his name and reputation quickly, and here is another reason why it is happening fast for him. He’s built on some amazing drive and groovy textures to the track here, and delivers another uplifting progressive production that we are certain will echo across the globe. 

The 2nd original from Soundslogic, baptized as “Complicated”, on this EP is another epic one built  through melodic progressions, warm bass lines and effective add ons to build another masterpiece. He is so talented and definitely one to watch for the future. Amazing is a word to be used for the melodic parts built here.

On remix duty we see another return on the label and we are so thrilled to once more being able to involve one of our best friends on the label, the Norwegian producer and huge talent, Eleve. This “musical machine” is fair to say one of the most interesting names in the business as he always tend to find new ideas and ways to being creative. This is another fine example of what he is capable of. Added on melodic textures, fresh flute sounds and an overall juicy and uplifting feel brought on, he once more proves he is here to stay, and we couldn’t be more proud than what we are to involve him on our PHW label. 

Overall, this is a release that we are extremely proud of, bringing together some of the most talented names there are out there. Stay tuned for more, but for now, go ahead and dive in on this beautiful release.

Adjacent:

Cool and metallic synthesized waves bloom and fade with each drum beat, that 
sets the stage for an amazingly chilled composition. "Adjacent" is just what we 
need from Ametrine to realign ourselves to those things we want to reach most.

Downwind:

Much less intense on the high end than Adjacent, but "Downwind"'s percussion 
certainly strikes harmony within the soul. A beautifully chilled track that 
is perfect to wake up to the sun with.

Balearic Eclipse

Like a siren that attracts voyagers in the deep sea, “Balearic Eclipse” will allure listeners with its mesmerizing piano riff, romanticizing guitar strings, and arousing bassline. This track is purely an instrumental odyssey that will indulge one’s senses whether at the beach or on a dance floor. This is sure to be Gajosz’s most vibrant masterpiece yet.

Lunar Moon

Dreams of a balearic paradise are realized beneath an Iberian moon. Congo drums, a resonating bassline, soft piano notes, and hypnotic bell chimes combine to create a sensual, groovy beach vibe.

Nostalgic Sun

While its progressive foundation is similar to that of the other two tracks on the EP, “Nostalgic Sun” is laced with deeper trance-like elements: an electrifying intro (a synth loop, echoing vocals, and delicate guitar strings), an atmospheric breakdown (strings, vocals, guitar), and a casual buildup that culminates into the main progressive and melodic reprise. “Nostalgic Sun” is a dance floor tune to remember.

Following his recent "Salt & Sea" release on our imprint, Australian musician Approaching Black is back with a stunning new EP, "Let You," featuring three outstanding progressive and deep house cuts.

The title cut takes off with an elegant and firm groove, accompanied by lush background synths and smooth piano notes. After a signature Approaching Black bassline subtly enters the mix, a unique and memorable main lead emerges, brilliantly accompanied by a gorgeous female vocal stem.

In "Want You," the listener is quickly transported into a brilliant soundscape, consisting of blissful pad layers, intriguing bassline notes, and frisky percussion elements. In the break, captivating vocals are at play, while delicious piano notes play a wonderful theme.

This past summer, we had the enormous privilege of releasing an album of remixes, in celebration of the past work of acclaimed synthwave duo The Midnight. We were thrilled to witness this release reach the Top 25 on the Billboard Dance / Electronic Albums Chart, and The Midnight have since sold out celebrated venues in both San Francisco (DNA Lounge) and Los Angeles (Globe Theatre). Our final single from "The Midnight Remixed" is a love letter to "Synthetic," a distinctive cut in The Midnight's oeuvre, given that it features a rare vocal from the band's producer, Tim McEwan. Initially showcased on the album itself, the glorious Mango vs. We Are All Astronauts remix is, of course, included here, as well as four other eclectic, yet equally inspired new takes.

Kicking off the release, visionary Boston-based composer We Are All Astronauts reveals the first of several collaborative "Synthetic" interpretations; he is joined by American producer and fellow Silk Music newcomer Lost Empire on this specific rendering. In the early going, a gentle house beat, infused with a deep, swingy groove, sits below Tim McEwan's soulful vocal. As the song progresses, a symphonic layer to the arrangement emerges, ultimately leading to a poignant, string-backed main breakdown. Signaling the full thematic metamorphosis of the song's protagonist to a non-human entity, a video-game inspired new melody line carries the midrange to the song's conclusion.

On "The Midnight Remixed," label muse Mango, alongside We Are All Astronauts, revealed his first production in years, an inspired indie-house take on "Synthetic," now appearing on this follow-up single as well. Waves of melody imbue the soundscape with touches of both melancholy and euphoria, which is to say: Mango is in vintage form from the song's earliest moments. The juxtaposition of Tim's wistful vocal with Mango & WAAA's uplifting instrumentation feels pitch-perfect for the nostalgic mood evoked by The Midnight's music, in general.

Finally, We Are All Astronauts offers his own solo interpretation, in which the arrangement is denuded of any percussive elements via a glorious, fully orchestral three-minute intro. The heartrending instrumentation, matched by Tim's affecting vocal performance, sets up a cathartic, 'post-rock' finale, in which ambient-electronic textures provide the underpinning for an edgy and, ultimately, anthemic rock score. As Tim's vocal gently fades into a sea of symphonic sounds, the coda poignantly captures the transience of life's beauty.

A man of many talents -- singer, songwriter, and producer -- Norwegian artist Astroleaf is a proud new addition to our label roster. His Silk Music debut, "Open Your Heart," showcases his versatility as a composer, as well as the musicality and emotional depth of his work. This gorgeous broken-hearted ballad, a hybrid of the alternative singer-songwriter and progressive breaks genres, is paired with extraordinary remixes by label veteran LTN, who offers the poignant 'Sunrise' treatment. 

Astroleaf's stunning original version of "Open Your Heart" is a sonic plea to a former lover to give their relationship one more chance. The unforgettable refrain, "Open your heart, my darling," gives the song its name and strikes an indelibly emotional chord in the listener's own heart. A resonant bassline and a slowed-down, steady breakbeat offer the track plenty of low-end power as well. On vocals, Astroleaf evinces instant star power, as his voice is quite naturally both distinctive and affective, and the pop qualities of his songwriting are balanced well with elegant and mature compositional touches throughout the arrangement.

Ever-reliable Indonesian sensation LTN delivers a breathtaking vocal remix, thereby adding to his celebrated series of chilled, yet emotive 'Sunrise' interpretations of vocal electronic tracks. In the early going, a moody atmosphere sets the stage for the arrival of Astroleaf's vocal, which has been slowed down for enhanced sentimental effect. Crystalline melodies, stirring strings, and evocative pads provide the backdrop for the verses, as well as an especially incisive piano theme. Not following a traditional arrangement, the remix proceeds with a patient crescendo, offering a series of mini-breaks, but not an extended breakdown. The result is an exceedingly moving aural journey, guided by the mellifluous "narration" of the promising Astroleaf.

We are delighted to welcome back Mexico-based Dan Norvan to the Shores imprint for this next release: his ‘Turquoise Moon EP’ 

Having joined us originally for the 1st installation of our Coastal Selections series, Dan is back with a gorgeous two track outing. The title track is a smooth melodic affair, showcasing some classic prog chords, lovely pluck work and some great vocal chops; very reminiscent of the golden age of progressive house circa 2008.  The 2nd track on this stunning EP, “Night Travels”, features a collaboration with Colombia based artist R3dub. This is a gorgeous melodic journey through warm chords, fantastic arps, clever vocal chops and lush atmospherics that truly put the listener in mind of a sun-kissed day on a beautiful beach.

Feelings of romance and hope imbue the spring months, as well as the music released this time of year. We're thrilled to present five uplifting new cuts by Jay FM, Anthony Nikita, Peter Illias and Lukas Solcani, Airdraw, and LOOPer, which capture the optimistic mood of the spring season.

Irish sensation Jay FM, fresh off a new EP on our imprint (arriving last week), returns with "Good Times." Opening with a vibrant beat, the track slowly gives way to contemplative chords, underpinned by a deep bassline. Just before the halfway mark, we experience a momentary pause and find ourselves amid a humming soundscape. This affords us enough time to float along (blissfully), before being plunged back into the mesmerizing beat.

NYC-based producer and DJ Anthony Nikita deftly contributes "Love The Way," featuring gorgeous vocals from fellow label newcomer Hadar Adora. The track's soothing beat helps to craft a tranquil and sensual soundscape, highlighted by mellow chords and various jazzy flourishes. Hadar Adora's entrancing vocals enhance the romantic, after-hours vibes throughout the composition.

On "Be Mine," Peter Illias and Lukas Solcani unite their progressive prowess into a sweeping wave of energy. The listener experiences an invigorating swirl of bass, combined with scintillating piano keys. Haunting vocal cuts layer the track with an emotive texture, providing depth to an already invigorating composition. 

NYC-based duo New Ordinance make their label debut via an inspired orchestral take on Airdraw, Aaren & Jo.E's progressive-flavored "Bryde's Whale." While the arrangement begins nearly identical to the original version, it eventually reveals poignant new strings, which reach their zenith alongside echoing piano keys. The resulting combination of sonic elegance and energy creates a distinct composition, which leaves us pondering the changes of a new season.

Denis Laurent, the gifted veteran Russian composer, debuts his new Shomu alias through a remix of LOOPer and Andy Wooding's classic "All We Are." Signaling the arrival of spring, Andy Wooding's refrain "we are living together, under the sun" radiates warmth and illuminates the momentary simplicity of the human condition. As we find ourselves spending more time outdoors, we notice both the earth and our relationships beginning to bloom, a hopeful reflection that is amplified by Shomu's delicate percussion and playful melodies.

Sound Quelle, the versatile and exceedingly gifted Russian veteran, returns to our label for the second time in 2018 with the elegant 6-track EP "Ethereal." After the tremendous success of his "Shoreline" EP earlier this year, we are graced with six mesmerizing new cuts, which explore various shades of deep & progressive house.

The opening track of the EP, fittingly entitled "Ethereal," features the ravishing vocals of Canadian vocalist Brandon Mignacca. Extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world, "Ethereal" begins with an extended, beat-less intro, centering on airy vocals and delicate melodies, evoking pleasantries to all. Warm-hearted melodies and an infectious groove take hold a few minutes in; later on, Brandon's honeyed vocal takes on a more acutely emotive quality, as he passionately delivers the titular refrain. This is an extraordinary cut from two criminally underrated musicians.

The future is now with "Orlaz," a futuristic deep tune that centers on a beautiful and awe-inspiring liquid-y groove. As the track progresses, the listener experiences myriad out-of-body moments, induced by a variety of calm and enchanting melodic motifs and a mini drop that suits the chilled, sensual mood perfectly. 

The ebullient "LoMe" has a distinctly "happy disco" feel, thanks to waves of euphoric melodies and a hypnotic vocal sample, which gives the song its intriguing name. A distinctively 80s-influenced rhythm section and a soft-spoken vocal hook ("plug me in") help launch the listener into a hypnotic frenzy. Sound Quelle continues to pour on the retro hooks, not the least of which is a delicious guitar theme in the song's latter half. 

Back to the deep we go with "Angelos & Daemones," which serves up a groove that induces immediate head-bobbing and foot tapping. At the quarter turn, the listener is met with echoes of the hauntingly beautiful vocal solo, which is soon to follow. Finally, in the drop section, the listener feels compelled to grab a loved one and head straight to the dance floor, courtesy of a series of climactic flourishes.

Sound Quelle's marvelous "Chanunpa" welcomes you to a lush jungle of deep house euphoria. With a powerful summertime groove that begins with the sound of beautiful birds and elegant bongo drums, "Chanunpa" is the perfect soundtrack for beginning one's day. The most tropical flavor of the whole EP, "Chanunpa" offers infections vocal hooks, slide whistles, and beach-flavored atmospheric delights that create an all-around blissful vibe. 

Sound Quelle's magnificent closing tune, "Resa," completes the aural voyage of the "Ethereal" EP. A cavernous bassline is periodically punctuated by a laser like sound effect, as well as a variety of other captivating deep touches, including a mystical female vocal hook, which hovers in the background. A groovy series of male vocal stabs appears in the second half of the track, leading to a transcendent finish that leaves the listener spiritually fulfilled from his odyssey across the universe (and back again).

For the 3rd time, we welcome the great Russian producer Arthur Dunkan aka Dunkan to PHW, this time with another uplifting progressive production. "Europe" as the track is baptized to, is a production packed with big melodies, driving percussion and sweeping effects. As always he has but something together that will cheer us up and leave a smile on your face. Included are also 2 remixes from friends of ours. First up is a producer hailing from Poland and on the label for the first time. Having been around for quite some time, Reiklavik comes with another skilled production when he showcase his thought here, how Europe should sound. He has put a definite uplifting approach on the track, still with a bit deeper vibe on this interpretation, and it sounds absolutely perfect in my ears with smooth meodies written all over. Well done Bartek! The 2nd remix on the track from Dunkan comes from one of Japans finest progressive producers and a longtime favorite to us here at the label. AKI Amano has done so many intelligent production, were he showcase his superb talent to build melodies, and we can once more say that he nailed it here. With a very laid back and relaxing take on "Europe", this is something very special coming to you here. With smooth kicks, lovely pads and perfect bass sounds, he has created something fantastic here that we truly fell in love with at the first play. It has just a fantastic atmosphere and is a very emotional piece of progressive music, we simply love it! To sum it up, this is another lovely release including what we at PHW is all about, the love of progressive!
