We have finally arrived at my favorite track from the movie, and from my album, "We'll Be Alright"! This track plays at the very end scene of the movie, and I love everything about this scene. Without spoiling anything, it's a message of hope, and this song carries it perfectly. Where Nandemonaiya was the perfect bittersweet ending to Your Name, We'll Be Alright is the perfect uplifting ending for Weathering With You. 

It's been a tough year. I think this song perfectly encapsulates what we all need right now. To embrace that if we believe in ourselves, maybe, somehow...We'll Be Alright.

This piece is actually a bonus track from my YLiA cover album, and not on the official release at all. It's an alternate version of track 11, "My Lie", or "Watashi no Uso" if you will, featuring strings. I decided to go with my piano solo version for the album in the end, but I quite liked how this string version sounded so I decided to give it the "bonus track" label and release it here. 

If you're a fan of the series you'll already know, but the original version is perhaps the most iconic piece from the soundtrack. It plucks my heartstrings every time I hear it. I can never get over those scenes.

I've been working on this song for a while, so it feels good to finally release it. A piano cover of "Your Reality" from Dan Salvato's visual novel that rose to internet fame. I've released it as part of a single I did with xMEIYIN, so please check that out with the link above if you've enjoyed this cover! 

The harmonies I added to the main melody were surprisingly hard to get fitted into the arrangement. For whatever reason the song kept sounding best when I kept it simple and stuck to the original, simple melodic line. But in the end I think I found something that works and strengthens the arrangement as a whole. This is one of my personal favorites! Again is a simple melody with a strong, recurring riff. But the pure emotion poured into it is amazing, as this is played during pivotal moments in the anime. This piece is part of what makes the heart and soul of the Your Lie in April series. It was known as "Spring's Melody" when it first aired, but quickly became known as "Friend A" instead. However this is quite confusing, as there is another piece titled Friend A (or Yuujin A, if you will), while this one is actually called "Yuujin A-kun wo Watashi no Bansousha ni Ninmeishimasu", a quote from the series where Kaori appoints Friend A to be her accompanist. That is the main reason why I went with "Spring's Melody" for the this track title on my album, as I already have Friend A on it and I like to keep the titles as short and derivative translations of the original titles (few actually have localized titles). 

This piece symbolizes Kaori and spring in many ways, as it plays across pivotal moments in the series. Distinct, with embracing string sweeps, and a simple but strong piano melody playing over it. This is my shot at replicating it, and considering how rarely I deploy strings, I'm quite happy with the result. I hope you like it! The color change I added during the video is meant to symbolize the coming of the colorful spring, led by Kaori's strings, disappearing at the end and leaving the lone piano.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that "Squid Game" is not a fad, but a tasteful mix of drama, horror and action. The performances, the score, the script and the cinematography were all top notch! However, while most musicians have covered the iconic "Way Back Then" jingle, I went with a less popular track, called "Unfolded".

This track plays several times during the series, but most notably during the end credits of the final episode. It's a slick, prog-rock sounding track with piano, guitar, drums and bass, that forms a perfect end to the series in my opinion. Furthermore, that specific version of the song follows up with "I Remember My Name", the staple emotional track from the soundtrack. That's why it's included in my version as well.

While the track is a bit unconventional in terms of melodic structure (you can argue a lot of the "melody" lies in the left hand), I think I've made it work well. If you like it, consider checking out the full single that features a bonus track, linked above!

The Rumbling - It's Coming!

I'm completely exhausted. The episode has been out for about 48 hours and half of that I've spent creating this beast. I call it the "Colossal" version.

I've long since accepted that I will never make it "big" on Youtube, but no one can say I didn't put any effort into my videos! This cover encapsulates everything I've learnt so far in all of my years doing arrangements and piano. There's extravagant arpeggios, compelling voicing, spicy chords, complex pedal work and roaring basslines. The latter of which are meant to represent the stomping colossal titans, while the heroic chorus represents Eren's plight and fight. I hope all the work was not in vain and that you will find enjoyment in my cover. 

Either way, let's enjoy this hype together while it lasts! I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode and I can't wait to watch the rest of the adaption. Are you excited too? :D There will be more AoT covers!

Happy Friday! I launched my new Mass Effect album last Tuesday, please check out the trailer that I posted on the same day here on the channel, or the album itself with the link above if you want to take a closer look :)

The crown jewel of that album is this arrangement of "Suicide Mission", arguably the most well known or popular track from the series. It's one of the hardest arrangements I've written hands down. Not in playing difficulty (although it is quite tough), but in the difficulty of creating it. Not only is the original a full blown orchestral track, but most of it is in 7/8, a non-standard time signature that feels different to work with. Finally, the track itself is one large medley of Mass Effect (and Mass Effect 2's) central melodies. That fact offers several challenges by itself.

The key goal for me was to keep a high build up and intensity throughout the track, as one of the largest issues I experienced in the process was that the arrangement felt drawn out or that it was losing momentum. That's why some sections are shortened down, as two hands alone simply cannot create all of the crescendos and ups and downs of an entire band without compromise. And with all of that in mind, I'm happy with the raw intensity and drive I've managed to draw out from it. Especially the middle sections with the Illusive Man's theme, and the very few last bars. I hope that you'll like it!

We got a new trailer for the upcoming Makoto Shinkai Movie, "Suzume no Tojimari"! Along with that we got more snippets of one of the main songs from the movie, and the title. It's simply titled "Suzume" and sung by Nanoka Hara. If I'm not mistaken, that's also the va for the main character.

I went all out and did a "full" version, even though the full original song is not out yet. What I mean by that is that I did a faithful recreation of what seems to be the verse and chorus, then extended it with a bridge from the main arpeggio (featured more heavily in the trailer #1 version), and added another short verse followed up with a final chorus and some improv for the ending. 

I think there's more polish to be done here, not just in my playing but the arrangement as well. Please let me know what you think in the comments :) Can't wait for the movie!

Viator is a one of a kind track, it's the ending song of the movie "Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms", originally sung by rionos. The lyrics, the melody, it's all completely gorgeous and perfectly encapsulates the ending and mood of the movie in my opinion. I remember that the whole cinema cried during that ending, including myself.

Another song from my newest album, "Emotional Anime on Piano - Vol. 3"! It's available with the link above if you'd like to hear more. Tanjiro's Song is one of the anime pieces that I simply had to cover, it's both extremely popular and quite compelling. It's used as a special ending song to episode 19 in the Demon Slayer anime, and needless to say, it fits perfectly.

Creating a full piano arrangement for this song was quite the challenge, I tried putting my arrangement skills to the test. I put my all into it, but honestly I've listened to this album so many times during production that I'm not longer able to tell how good/bad it is. So please let me know ^^ 

As per usual I want to put a disclaimer that this is not the standard difficulty I aim for with my pieces lol, I'll do an advanced piece every now and then but I will keep doing my intermediate difficulty leveled ones too!

Reprise, ah, one of the staple tracks from the soundtrack that plays during one of the final scenes. There was some pressure to do this one, but luckily I do love the track and I found a good balance on complexity, length, and difficulty here. It is somewhat shortened but still lengthy and inclusive of its main parts and emotions. And I think intermediate players can play it just fine, I'm glad I didn't go in too complex of a direction with it. Its beauty is carried by the simplicity of the melody, and straightforward dynamics.

The theme starts off with a buildup, a brass solo, some strings, and then finally climaxes into a brand new orchestrated version of "Barricades" from season 2. I'm very new to VST stuff so please help me improve! Anyway, hope you Shingeki fans enjoy it ^.^

"Frieda inherited the Founding Titan and the memories of this world" - Rod Reiss

This theme combines the Reiss family theme and Barricades from S2, and was used in EP9 and EP10, in the latter for Kenny's backstory. The Founding Titan has been passed down in the Reiss family from shifter to shifter, and is said by Rod Reiss to be the strongest of all titans. If you watched closely, you'll see that I showed every known shifter to hold the Founding Titan power in chronological order, at the very beginning.

So, it's December and winter is here. What better theme to get us into the season than "Phendrana Drifts"? 

Metroid has always been one of my favorite franchises, and Prime holds a special place in my heart. This performance is originally from 2017, but this is remastered with a new VST. Originally this was used in a new synthesia tutorial, see the link above. But it sounded nice, so why not do Souncloud as well?

----------------------------------------SPOILERS FOR AOT S3 P2 EP06-----------------------------------------------

Here's my cover of "ThanksAT" from the newest episode of Attack on Titan! Where Levi is faced with an incredibly difficult choice, to pick who lives and who dies. A pivotal moment from the manga that was absolutely incredible to see animated.

I used a good deal of time to accurately transcribe this, you can play it in real time with the scene and the music matches up almost perfectly, I just have a few odd beats added for different reasons. But the sections and the melody is all the same. I extended the epic part to mirror it's counterpart in "SymphonicSuite[AoT]Part2-2nd:ShingekiNoKyojin" which is Armin's orchestral fight OST from ep 5. They share that same climactic melody, as Armin dies/is reborn. The end contains some of "YouSeeBIGGIRL" or the Warrior leitmotif as I like to call it, as a callback to Bertholdt who dies in this scene. It's also perfect because intentionally or not, the melody share a lot of the same notes and structure. Put a lot of work into this, I know my string mixing isn't the best but I hope it sounds alright. Hope you enjoy it! Will probably post synthesia later.
