'Retention' drifts through shadowy spaces, fusing the moody swing of future garage with the haunting stillness of liminal ambient and the weight of post-dubstep. Its atmosphere is thick with mystery—echoing textures, distant vocal fragments, and ghostlike melodies suspended in space. A deep Reese bassline anchors the track, rumbling beneath broken rhythms that move like footsteps in a dream. Ethereal and immersive, it evokes a sense of motion through fog, where time feels slowed and emotions linger just out of reach. This is music for the in-between—unsettling, beautiful, and endlessly evocative.
