Naming this category wasn't an easy task for me, as many different genres are featured in these sets. I love playing music that moves between 90-118 bpm and still manages to be incredibly groovy and danceable. Slower music can touch deep and move simultaneously. In this section, some sets are very eclectic: you might find Queen Latifah or Mos Def mixed into the musical journey. Enjoy!

It was a great pleasure and at the same time an exciting challenge to put on music at 12 noon at the wonderful Unter-uns festival, as many were just starting to wake up at that hour. I am so grateful that my music was so appreciated. It was a great start and I look forward to more! 
Again, a huge thank you to the organizers of this unforgettable experience, to the people who were really all respectful, humorous and loving to each other and to the DJs who kept inspiring me, surprising me and making me dance to their unique music.

Happy International Women’s Day House /Bulbul Berlin

I was delighted to musically accompany Klaus' birthday party in the former Cookies, which is now called Crackers and is a beautiful location. It was a wonderful evening full of inspiring, warm, funny people who shared the joy of music with me. How beautiful and how valuable that we can now be together and dance again. This summer I was allowed to facilitate and play my own Ecstatic Dance Set at the wonderful Komod Festival in Weilheim, after teaching electronic Pilates. Ecstatic Dance was offered there for the first time and I didn't know how this set, which builds up slowly and goes through different rhythmic phases, would be received by the people. In this regard, my uncertainty was blown away by the breathtaking love energy of the people from the first note played. It was heartwarming to feel the connection that devotion to music can create. Thank you Komod Festival for this unforgettable experience, on this beautiful TIGERgehege-floor with unbelievable great sound (respect for the self-built speakers! I still dream and talk about it! ;-) and passionate music lovers. 🙏❤️✨💃🏻🌪🙌☮️🌻

This set (Agape Zoe Festival Corfu '23) is a gentle, meditative, and spiritual journey inward, toward the heart. It invites you to exhale andd to dance out the emotions you want to release and letting go of all the old baggage that blocks the path to your true self. It's about breaking the chains of patterns that confine us and simultaneously embracing all the contrasts and facets of who we are: the darkness and the light, fear and courage, vulnerability and strength, and so on.

This set served as the musical accompaniment to the "From Trauma to Tantra" workshop led by Our Echo (Agape Zoe Festival Corfu - Gayatri Mandir Floor). It was a wonderful experience collaborating with Our Echo, the wonderful singer Felicia Falck and Felix Leela Arun.
Thank you, dear, brave Echo, for bringing these amazing artists together. Thanks to the Agape Zoe Festival for the magical setting and the kind support from the talented sound technician, Anita. And last but not least, a huge, heartfelt thank you to the beautiful, sensitive souls who delved so deeply into my music that I had goosebumps all over. Klunkerkranich Berlin 13.4.24  @femquency take over

I bought my first electronic record in the 80s as a child in my hometown Bellinzona (near Lugano). It was Kraftwerk's album "Computerwelt". This album sparked my thirst for more innovative music, which was nearly nonexistent in our area during the 80s. There was a radio DJ show in Milan called "Radio DJ" that played electronic music, but to hear what I liked, I had to venture out of my small town. In Zurich, towards the end of the 80s and the beginning of the 90s, after much hesitation, as I was usually the only woman, I explored the record stores and discovered my love for techno, which paved my way into the wider world because I wanted to live where there was techno and like-minded people. I moved to Zurich, then to Cologne, where I experienced wonderful rave times at the legendary Warehouse Club and spontaneously commuted between Frankfurt, Belgium, NRW and London, where I heard one of the most inpiring DJs at the time at Heaven: Mrs. Wood, and where I got to experience the amazing Club ,Turnmills'. After that, I moved to Munich, where I had the pleasure of experiencing wonderful nights of dancing at the Ultrashall and the Flokati.
Now I'm in Berlin, where of course many techno enthusiasts land. As a woman, I didn't dare to DJ back then, although many DJ friends encouraged me on my journey. Yetti (formerly DJ Miss Yetti) was braver and paved the way for many women who were hesitant; she persuaded me to overcome my fears decades later, in 2019. In the early 90s, we were usually the only women (with Sabine Christ from Housefrau, the first show about electronic music in Germany) in the Delirium record store. Over these more than 30 years, I've had the privilege of hearing such amazing artists who continue to make fantastic music, like Hardfloor. At this point, I want to express my gratitude for the "The Sound of Lugano" remix, which contains everything I love: acid, funk, and Lugano ;-) and how wonderful it is to experience young artists like Natanael Megersa, who recently created wonderful productions. Techno will always be my companion, and I look forward to sharing this love with you on the dancefloor someday.

💥 from Lugano to Techno 💥

We played together (for the first time) the Opening of the Techno Türken Openair at Festsaal Kreuzberg in Berlin and it was beautiful to see what emerged from it: a completely new musical journey, as each of us connected her energy with that of the other. A journey that brought us closer, also with the fantastic dance crew and the wonderful people we got to know afterwards. Many thanks also to the organizers, who took great care of us. LOVE

INKAA & Tornadotoni: Techno Türken Opening / Berlin

It was incredibly fun to play for a select dance crew at the Muggelfield am See Festival. I played on a beautiful dance floor in an old barn, lovingly decorated. It was truly like you imagine a great festival, with people who treat each other with care. Nothing gets lost, everyone shares, and everyone is polite and understanding. I haven’t laughed this much in a long time. I also had the chance to take my time and philosophize about music with like-minded music nerds. The variety of consistently good music I heard was wonderful. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Henning!
We need more of this now more than ever in this dystopian world. I’m already looking forward to next year, my dear friends. Thank you for dancing and for the good vibes.

Muggelfield am See (so schee!) 2024 ❤️✨💃🏻

Last weekend, on August 25th, 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to play again at the NonoStar Festival in the Uckermark, in the countryside outside Berlin. The atmosphere was truly magical, and there was a profound sense of connection that we all felt. I was initially scheduled to play for two hours, but ended up playing for three, followed by a B2B set until sunrise. The sky was a vibrant red, the air was mild, and the colors were soft and gentle.

This time leaned more into Deep House, Indie Dance, with a touch of Afro-House, Tech-House, and Organic-House, sprinkled with some familiar vocals here and there. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed playing it. 

This beautiful experience with amazing dancers and wonderful fellow DJs is something I will carry deeply in my heart. I am so grateful to have shared this incredible end to the summer with such wonderful people. Many, many thanks to the organizers for having me. I feel truly blessed and am overjoyed to have had this experience.

Full of love, powerful performances, and deep dancefloor energy. But beyond the vibes – this day is not just a celebration, it’s a day of resistance. A reminder that the fight for equality and visibility continues.

For this night, I also chosed to include the powerful speech by Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde from the time of Trump’s inauguration – a speech that struck me for its courage, clarity, and unwavering hope. Together with our dancers, we turned her words into movement, into rhythm, into a call for a more human, inclusive, and compassionate politics.

In the Beginning There Was Techno – by Tornadotoni

This set was recorded for the Techno-Sekretariat — episode #10 on YouTube — with Techno as the main theme.
It reflects my own definition of Techno — the way I experienced it in the early ’90s.

Back then, Techno could be very fast, and also warm, emotional, and full of depth.
I remember it as something that carried energy and soul at the same time — an umbrella for many electronic styles that were just emerging and constantly evolving.

In the early ’90s, there were usually three floors: a Techno floor, a House floor, and a Chill-out room with Ambient DJs.
On the Techno floor, you’d hear everything — Progressive House, Acid, Trance, Breakbeat, Detroit Techno and many more — all mixed together. It wasn’t about the big drop yet; it was a journey, one where you never knew exactly where you’d end up.

That sense of exploration still fascinates me today. I love sets that take you by the hand and lead you somewhere unexpected — and that’s what I try to keep alive in my own way.

I get bored with sets that feel predictable — like films where you already know the ending. That’s why this mix includes moments that surprise, wake you up, or take you somewhere different. That’s my signature: I play eclectically, following emotion rather than formula.

For me, Techno is something that shaped my life — it took me around the world, connected me with a community, and gave me that unique sense of freedom. Without Techno, I probably wouldn’t even live in Berlin.

So yes — in the beginning there was Techno. At least for me.

Tornadotoni, who was born and raised in Bellinzona  (the italian part of Switzerland), is a Berlin based DJ and Founder of the FLINTAQ* Artist collective Femunity and part of Techno Türken. Since childhood she was a vivid music lover.  
At the age of eight she bought her first record and that was a big turning point in her life. For the next decades, one could find Toni getting lost in time & space at the best record stores all over the world, growing her diverse vinyl collection. Six years ago, Miss Yetti-a dear friend of hers & one of the first female electronic DJs around- asked Tornadotoni to DJ at her birthday party. Since then, she devotedly shares her passion for music and enjoys the magical connection that comes from dancing. Music is pure energy for Toni and it is from this feeling that she puts together her eclectic sets where many genres flow together, such as house, disco, indie dance, funk, dark disco, deep house, world, dub, ambient, organic house, conscious music, hip hop, acid, trap and many more which have one common denominator: “The Groovetrain”, as Tornadotoni calls it.
