Placid's We're Going Deep label is back with its third various artist edition simply going by the name of the label itself. Volume 3 brings together artists and music from  Moy, Rekab, Moody Waters and Smart Bar resident Garrett David, who delivers a heartwarming deep (House) cut perfectly made for those moments when the sun sets into the ocean and the blue hour is rung in. Cruisin Thru, the title of Garrett David's EP contribution, comes in with a satisfying lush  bass line which bristles with funky yet deep chord sequences that create an uplifting vibe that can either lead over to monumental peak time moment or keep the momentun with its irresistable groove. However, one implements the take into a set, the crowd will definitely vibe with it.

Plaisir de France is well known for his remixes and collaborations with the best of the new French pop scene. He has worked with everyone from Regina Demina and Bertrand Belin to Arnold Turboust and his debut album from 2021 featured 27 collaborations that explored everything from club sounds to introspective home listening, dark grooves to happy house. Now the pleasure of the album is extended with 17 remixes, four of which are teased here.

First up is dark disco mainstay Damon Jee with a pure dance floor hit that is explosive and mechanical. His take on 'Serpent' is the sound of an infernal machine that goes into overdrive as it powers on in a rugged but compelling fashion.

Legendary innovator Tim Paris then steps up with his signature and singular electro-rock sound on his version of 'Cogne Mon Coeur.' It has a melancholic mood and bittersweet sense of nostalgia that slowly lifts you up as the power of the heady guitar chords and plaintive keys make their mark.

The brilliant Badknife remixes 'Sur La Piste' and brings a 2 am atmosphere where black leather, distorted drums and 80s sounds make for a menacing and uncompromising groove. It is an infernal sound that leads to both physical and mental abandon.

Finally, Polocorp is one half of Polo and Pan and he remixes 'Dans Toutes les Chansons d'Amour' with the club mind in. He layers in deep, hypnotic bass to make for an energetic cut that is ready to attack both body and mind.

This is a vibrant collection of characterful club sounds. The Tim Paris remix will be available 23rd September, the Polocorp remix on 7th October and the remaining two remixes from Badknife and Damon Jee will be released with the album on 21st October.

The Sleepless rounds out the EP for all the insomniacs out there, with some reflections on the dangers of sleep deprivation set to a melancholy beat.

Kalahari Oyster Cult, hot on the heels of the La Batterie reissue, are getting right back in your grills with Liluzu's 'What's Your Star Sign?' EP.
One of the highlight of the EP is the wonderful 'Arecca (Bubble Mix)'. A big warm bass gives you a big hug while odd little percs seem to jitter around impatiently waiting for the kick drums to hit. Once they do, a mid tempo breakbeat comes in accompanying a beefy verby acid sound which carries the track long after the drums stop. 
'Arecca' is a piece of spine tingling piece of electro which reaches all the right places courtesy of Liluzu, head of the Vulcan Venti imprint, and he keeps the sound sun kissed and full of warmth. We are not even a month in and Kalahari are already killing it. This is going to be a big year!

Fede Lng returns to self-owned Axe On Wax with Flight Mode EP; a cloud drifting four cut EP containing two originals in which the man himself describes as "the most chilled stuff I've ever done". It's not gone without notice, with his two previous records now veering away from his hallmark dance-floor lead work and taking on a more considered melodic form. The two remaining tracks come from Ciel and Yu Su, who step up to remix duty this time round, showcasing two unsurprisingly beautiful re-imaginations of the original cuts. 

We're premiering Yu Su's version of Fede and Mojeaux's Flight Mode which transforms what is already a serene glide across the pale blue into something slightly more ethereal. Metronomic tribal percussion fills the majority of the mix which is then accompanied by softer hues of the original's melodic palette.

Elusive dutch DJ and producer, nthng, announces his second album ‘Hypnotherapy’ on Lobster Theremin. Previously putting out records on his own label Transatlantic, plus the likes of Delsin, Lobster Theremin and Mörk, this thoughtful long play spans dub techno, hazy ambient and mind-bending trance, traversing through different moods. 

Float away with bright and airy opener, ‘50 Flower’. Spoken word samples intercept the ambience, bringing the listener down from the clouds. A2’s ‘I Just Am’ takes the EP into dub techno dancefloor territory with bolshy, rattling percussion and assertive vocals. ‘Heitt’ is a pacy slice of machine music for the wee hours, before drifting back to softness with barely-there ‘Beautiful Love’. ‘Wave Return’ injects a dose of wigged out energy, slowly evolving from drawn out dub into an effervescent jam. ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ rolls gently - a prime slice of chunky, driving electronica. nthng’s title track, ‘Hypnotherapy’, see’s the producer return to the ambient fringes of moody techno, barely-there kicks, and shimmering pads. Rounding out the album, weightless ‘With You’ is a romantic post club track, soft, longing vocals sit upon almost bird-like sounds. Digi only bonus, ‘And Then There Was Light’ is nthng’s most ethereal offering yet.

This is how my new album “Transformatic” has been created. Its name combines two states - trance and change. Most of the album consists of minimal ambient forms, which I recorded in a span of two weeks. There're also tracks that have rhythmic forms to create a feeling of pulsating and passage of time.
I’m inviting you to dive into this conceptual story, being one on one with complete, nondual energy of infinity.
