BKK-Podcast Volume 1 features Massimo Gagliano aka Maroga, a pillar of Freiburgs Technoscene.
With most of his inspiration gained from listening to a wide variety of music and also playing instruments himself, the skill set for bringing tracks to life is set. It is a passion to find beauty in unusual tones for his projects. Maroga’s love for dark and melancholic aesthetics is mirrored in his tracks and sets, however there is always room for a good, uplifting and curated groove to add contrast and movement. For Maroga Techno is more than just a genre, it is a big culture that lives from a colorful scene that is always evolving. The interplay between visual art, music and people which create those mediums keeps everything alive that feeds into the creative work of Maroga.

Torrid ist ein aufstrebender DJ und Produzent aus Nürnberg, wo er 1998 geboren wurde. Im Jahr 2018 begann er seine DJ-Karriere sogleich im darauffolgenden damit, eigene Tracks mit Ableton Live zu produzieren. Zunächst unter seinem alten Alias "ReallyCuet" verfolgte er melodischen Techno und veröffentlichte im Jahr 2020 seine erste EP auf dem Label "SMR Underground". Doch Ende des Jahres 2020 fand er seinen Sound in rhythmischen, perkussiven Techno und änderte somit auch seinen Künstlernamen.

Seine erste 4 Track-EP "Too Many Emotions" unter neuem Namen, wurde 2021 selbstständig auf Bandcamp veröffentlicht und enthält einen Remix von "Of Unsound Mind", einem Künstler aus dem lokalen kollektiv "Per_Kussiv" aus Nürnberg, in dem Torrid mit seinem vielfältigen und experimentellen Sound mittlerweile ein fester Bestandteil ist. Im November 2022 veröffentlichte er seine zweite EP "Aufbruch", mit 5 eigenen Produktionen, die zeigen, dass er sich ständig weiterentwickelt und seinen Sound perfektioniert.

Torrids Sound ist geprägt von rhythmischen Percussions, treibenden Basslines und experimentellen Elementen. Er schafft es, seine Tracks mit einer einzigartigen Atmosphäre zu füllen und erzeugt damit eine fesselnde Stimmung auf der Tanzfläche. Seine Sets sind energiegeladen und mitreißend, was ihn zu einem gefragten Act in der Nürnberger Techno-Szene macht.

Mit seinen bisherigen Veröffentlichungen hat Torrid bewiesen, dass er ein talentierter Produzent ist, der es versteht, verschiedene Einflüsse zu einem eigenständigen Sound zu verschmelzen. Wir sind gespannt, was die Zukunft für ihn bereithält und freuen uns auf weitere Veröffentlichungen.
