Repress of Simon Copleston a.k.a Iteration X’s debut EP delivered for Evasive Records in 2003. ’Timecheck’ and ‘Liquid Logic’ are 2 slabs of firing tech-house straight out of South London. Simon worked from his own studio and also Online Studios in Croydon. Simon sadly passed away in 2014 and we wanted to make this well sought after release available again so that his musical legacy lives on.

Igniting the flight for number 20 on Anthea’s prolific Partisan label is the young and talented Argentinian, JUAAN. His direct and energetic productions have nudged him on to the radar of the underground, moving further in an upward trajectory with his “Soy Piola” EP. 
 
Built upon distinct and hypnotic synths is the A1 “Eclipc”, its transcending energy will become etched in your memory, creating a particular mood on the most discerning of dance floors. Bringing a spaced out yet dramatic vibe to the EP is “Mestreso”, an acid infused quest to an otherworldly atmosphere. 
 
The enormous “Puede Llegar” launches us into the B side, the tight and punchy drum arrangement creates a sophisticated groove, playing co-pilot to the enthusiastic elastic bass that bubbles throughout. Rounding off the EP is the sub-heavy title track “Soy Piola”, a tripped out and stripped back voyage, laced with acid splashes ready to stretch the mind of the listeners. 
 
Although only young Juan F’s outlook with music is mature, he draws inspiration and influences from the 90’s, molding this ethos into his own modern day interpretation, aiming to create something timeless for the dancers of today, but reminiscent of the dusty sounds of the past; something he also aims to enforce within his DJ sets, never restrained by genre.

Emi Ömar has been, from his first steps at Recordeep, one of those versatile producers feeding from multiple influences and always in for some experiment. He does not hesitate to mix groovy old school sonorities to more contemporary notes, always with an efficient baseline. His performances are live oriented, and his tracks are often housy and always club friendly. 

For his first release with Momo’s basement, Emi Ömar dropped 4 golden sounds. The EP is introduced with Humm, an electronic and freshly optimistic track, followed by Shuffle, an energetic piece that will put dancefloors on fire. The B face stands for bouncy, Doom Mouv and Oyé have influences so retro that nobody will stand quiet.

All in all a record full with positive vibes to get in your bag.

Madrid-based artist Arnic delivers six deliciously deep and minimalistic cuts for the eight's installment on Tresydos. Therefore Arnic borrows the genre typical sounds but combines them to a whole new momentum in music, which goes down the Fashion Avenue - the EP's title. Latter consequently is also represented as a solo track on the musical conglomerate and washes up deep chords and bleeps from the heavy carrying bass line waves. Spoken and partly sung yet cropped vocals round off Arnic's stroll down the Fashion Avenue - shiny and glamorous but oh so underground.

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.
