Demi is one of the rising stars in dance music due to his energetic tracks and signature style, combining italo and electro with chopped up disco samples from around the globe.

Paying tribute to his musical roots doesn't quite hit the nail on its head as Michael Bihler, better known under his artist moniker HDSN, seemingly works House Music's history and the story of its pioneers skill- and carefully into his four track comprising EP For My People – the 12th release on his label Nuthing But A Soul Thing. Without any doubt the opening and at the same time the EP's eponymous track For My People captures the vibe of early House days due to its intriguing deep chords in combination with a memorable piano-chord array that characterize the track's backbone. The track's message, the repetition of the spoken words, underlines of not to say highlights the initially mentioned tribute paying or homage to House Music's founding artists. Besides its groovey-character For My People peaks in a break that does away with clichés as it does not stimulate the (urgent) necessity of a predictable drop but holds in before an Acid-line is added to the track – unexpectedly yet magnificently remind one even more of the past without sounding like it. An instant classic.

Blessed Madonna, Pete Tong, Gerd Janson, Ash Lauryn... the list of great DJs playing and loving Sam Ruffillo's very special italian disco music is long. With only 3 EPs on Toy Tonics, he might be the most talked about producer on the Berlin label (with Cody Currie and Coeo). One of his Italian disco songs form his last EP ITALIANISSIMO ("Chiamami Subito“) made it into the high rotation playlist of the biggest Italian pop radio and is still growing in the international club underground.

Now Sam comes with a new EP. And this EP shows his other side. Until now Sam has been known for his Italian organic disco songs (no samples, all instruments played live). But for his new BROOKLYN TAPES EP the Italo-Sicilian DJ, producer and super styler Sam Ruffillo worked with a few American rappers and soul singers to create what a New York critic called „post digital soul house music“. 

Remixes for the EP by some of Sam's fans: Ash Lauryn from Detroit, Eli Escobar from New York and Art Of Tones from France.

Flight Mode makes a welcome return to Delusions, this time joining forces with Joel Brittain to come up with another killer release in the form of 'Burn This'. Those who caught his last one 'It’s So Nice' last year will know the drill; epic, rolling, dubbed-out loopy uptempo house based around a classic disco bassline which patiently builds, increasing in intensity Wild Pitch style. 

This premiere's 'Burn This' treads similar waters with subtle arpeggios floating around an incessant groove whilst layers of vocal pads build to a crescendo over a beautiful ten minute ride. Proper mid-set heat raising material this - a bag essential.
