Залишити душу / Leave The Soul (In One's Heart)

«Patience» is the second single from the upcoming album.

This track is about feeling down and like the entire world is against you. And the fear that there's no way you can get through and get your life together. So it's about the frustration, the desolation, the helplessness.

However, this track is also about inner strength, an idea, a person that helps keep moving. Breath by breath, minute by minute, and day by day. It takes lots of patience, but eventually, it all passes.

«Patience» follows the style of the band's previous single, «Залишити душу» / «Leave the soul (in one's heart)». It has a mix of post-rock melodiousness, chill beats, and elaborative arrangement with indie vibes. 

This track and the upcoming album didn't develop post-rock/shoegaze style as in the previous band's releases. The team sees it as natural growth and evolution, as they keep their spirit in the music.

Patience

In our third single, 'VOLIA' (Ukr. for will, liberty), we reflect on the eight years’-war in Ukraine. In particular, the courage of defenders who resist russian invasion on the front line.

The first demo was born several years ago but couldn't get its final shape as there was always a feeling of some missing puzzles. Only with the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion did 'VOLIA' find a new meaning.

The single is dedicated to the heroes and heroines who defend Ukraine. This song is about determination, courage, and commitment. It is a reinterpretation of the phrase "Heroes do not die" and a tribute to everyone who gave their lives for freedom.

After five years of work, the Ukrainian post-rock/electronica band TOTAL-EMPTY finally presents their second full-length album.

"Backwards" is an emotional reflection on social issues and a place of the individual in them. It is an attempt to understand why humanity, having all the necessary resources, cannot move to a new level of development. And, why does everything look like we are on the path of self-destruction?

The album examines the problems of interpersonal relationships on many levels: from day-to-day and personal to universal for all humankind. At the same time, the musicians reflect on the idea that each of us is the embodiment of all "good" and "bad" things in society. Music aims to push the listener to find ways to a more meaningful life.

“Сльози крізь шрами” (Ukrainian, “Tears Between The Scars”) is a dark and ethereal avant-garde track that blends genres to tell a story of pain and resilience.

Get ready for an emotional journey where ambient electronic sound intertwines with post-rock and orchestral elements, surprising you with an epic wall of sound, resulting in a soulful vocal part that will resonate with those going through hard times.

This track was written under the influence of the events the band members are experiencing after the start of a full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, as they’re still based there.

The TOTAL-EMPTY team donates all the proceeds from streaming platforms and sales on Bandcamp to Ukrainian aid funds.
