Bit of bass playing for the SBL Academy Challenge (September). Basically you get a backing track and have to compose / improvise a bass line over it pretty quick. This the the pretty quick. Might revisit it. Nope - didn't know what modal jazz was when I started doing it.

Drums are a toothpaste brush on a bit of paper and a pen tapping the skin of a banjo. Everything else is a bass. Done on a looper. Hoping a friend can tell me what this is called - hence the attempt to recreate it.

Sorry if you've looked thinking there might be something interesting here to listen to... (or indeed anything to listen to).
Joined up this week after listening to a few tracks and thought it might be the place to put some stuff up after a 20 year recording hiatus.
However I have pretty much blown the best part of two months off listening to some fine music and haven't been near any of my songs or gear. 

Having said that, it's been great - like having John Peel and the early 90's cassette album community back.

Got about six nearly finished songs - and about 70 frragments.. easy... I'll try to give them a kick up the arse over the next week or so.
Probably won't though...
