German duo Guido Schneider & Jens Bond have been collaborating for quite some time now with releases together surfacing on Poker Flat, Contexterrior / Tuning Spork, Highgrade and Cadenza since 2005. Here we see the pairing delivering some exciting new material via the Amam imprint, bringing their raw and percussive led style back into the limelight.

Title track ‘If You’ sees the duo deliver a bumpy percussive groove laid out over eight minutes with swirling atmospheric sweeps and expansive organic sounds, while Konrad Black’s ‘Rock Dust Remix’ remoulds the original number into something hypnotic and mesmerising with penetrating bass, bubbling percussion and sweeping pads. The latter half then sees two more originals provided from Schneider & Bond, firstly ‘Walk To Walk’ lays the focus on unfolding reverb bursts, shadowy vocal murmurs and howling bass stabs, while closing track ‘Trippin’, as the name would suggest, provides a mind-bending and psychedelia infused techno composition to tails things out.

 The track begins with a foundation of warm, pulsating sub-bass and a meticulously programmed, groovy kick drum that locks you in immediately. The soul of the track is a haunting duduk melody, it doesn't just play; it evolves. The melody first appears as a simple, breathy phrase, almost a question hanging in the air. As the track builds, layers of the duduk are introduced, creating a rich, polyphonic tapestry. A deep, jazzy Fender Rhodes chord progression emerges from the shadows, adding a layer of soulful harmony that supports the duduk's mournful cry.

The main break strips back the percussion, leaving the raw, emotional duduk to duet with the swelling bassline and atmospheric pads, creating a moment of pure, cinematic introspection. The drop isn't explosive, but a powerful, confident return of the full groove, now feeling more profound and earned. This is a journey track, designed to make dancers lose themselves in its deep, ancient-to-modern narrative.

This is a chance for people to get in touch with artists that otherwise they wouldn't discovered and the first step to dig into their musics, their cultures and their lives.

We start this series with Chan Chan, a song written by Compay Segundo in 1987 and interpreted endless times by Buena Vista Social Club, the band he was part of. A beautiful song that now you can also dance.

Hailing from the sunny Rio de Janeiro city Toucan is a team composed from Bernardo Campos and Olliver Mach. Together they make a blend of house music sometimes more techy, others more deep, acid. Always searching for new ways to find their groove.

Residents of the Cave club, Deep Please and their own Toucan party also always playing all over the big green country of Brazil. 

2016 saw Toucan smash the charts both in Beatport and Traxsource with records on Gene Farris´s imprint Farris Wheel and also on Erase Records, also famous for putting a lot of free music for the fans on their soundcloud page. Big supporters on previous releases are names like Maceo Plex, Maya Jane Coles, Gene Farris, Worthy, Matthias Tanzmann, Anja Schneider, Sidney Charles, Flashmob, Technasia, just to name a few.
