PREMIÈRES (2022)

The first release of Halaken Soundsystem, the duo project of Halaken founders Mercan Dede and Dexter Crowe, opens a new avenue for experimentation and exploration of the space between generations, cultures, sounds, space and time. Showcasing the collaborative nature of the project with live musicians and field recordings from around the world, the track builds on powerful rhythms, an evolving arrangement and emotive melodies.

Originally written and performed decades ago by filmmaker, artist and dear friend of Halaken, Fernando del Sol from Caravan of Light, the sermon evokes the spirit of the Halaken mission. Inspired by Del Sol’s words during lockdown the energy reflects lessons learned in isolation, disconnected from the fundamental necessity of collective expression. As “we return to community and escape the psychosis of the collective mind” we call for artists to embrace the fire within and drive us back into life and our search for truth and freedom. 

As the world opens up, we travel from India to Turkey, Balkans, and across the Atlantic to the West, guided by voices and chanting, synths and chopped samples, finding mystical harmonies in the hum of the city. The thickly textured soundscape features the flourishing gypsy melodies of Aykut Sütoǧlu’s klarinet and brass, and the raw percussions of Hüseyin Ceylan, driving forward the movement of the piece. Illuminating our path to a new beginning, this story is a sonic invitation to look around and believe in magic.

We are delighted to enter this happy season with our yearly compilation ‘Spring Vibes'. This year's already the 5th edition… Time flies!

Art Vibes has put together a killer lineup to satisfy the most demanding ears. A lot of new artists as well as your favorites from the label have outdone themselves… you're in for a treat!

We're welcoming Ben & Vincent from Köln, Germany, with ‘Alice', a downtempo piece of electronic music flavored with delicate touches of Eastern melodies. Mellow-sounding keys merge with tastefully overdriven electric guitars and traditional percussion. A musical delight for the lovers of slow-groovin' tracks.

MI.LA is back with yet another mystical tune: Katoa. Her music has been making waves in the organic house scene with acclaimed singles ‘Garmi', ‘Garden', and ‘Fiera'. Katoa is mid-tempo track with a resolute ethnic vibes brought by ethereal flute sounds and diffuse guitar licks. The harmony takes one on a journey through a yet-to-be defined sonic realm.

Greg Ochman has been a regular of the label, gifting us with his joyful tunes for the past few years. Once again, we are beyond happy to feature his unique work. ‘Transparent Sun' has a lovely progressive vibe that caresses the ears of listeners with its intricate fluffiness. A blissful blend of synthesizers, dreamy strings, and piano jams, filling one with positive emotions.

Thales Senses is joining Art Vibes all the way from Paraguay. ‘Flowers in Sea' is a melancholic Organic House track full of analog sounds and detailed textures. You are invited into a hypnotic and ecstatic sonic journey. So, are you coming along?

Souvnear's ‘True Sunshine' is a deep and progressive audio gem. The french artist is delivering quality beats with a distinctive emotional signature. With this single, he is conveying nostalgic feelings through a minimal yet powerful orchestration. The sound design is smooth and leaves space for listeners to immerse themselves into the lush soundscapes and start dreaming away.

Demetra and Lafreq are new to the label, making a remarkable entry with ‘Make Me Feel'. The House influenced track is featuring the angelic vocals of Indian singer Shrii. Their work is reminiscent of All Day I Dream's recent releases, with that distinctive nostalgic vibe you dance to as the last rays of sunlight shine onto happy ravers.

Art Vibes' co-founder Veytik has been evolving at the edge of Organic and Ethnic House. His sound is very often characterized by vintage sounding synthesizers and organic sonorities imported from diverse horizons. As an aficionado of the 70's and 80's, the New-York based producer created ‘Proton' with a patchwork of both old and new sounds… This one has been made for summer dance-floors and careful listeners alike.

9DEEP has released a myriad of timeless singles on Art Vibes. The producer is always bringing new sonorities to the mix, yet staying true to his addictive psychedelic house universe. With ‘Once In A Lifetime', 9DEEP is exploring mysterious soundscapes, somewhere one could get easily lost… and dive deep within.

With over 20 years of travels through different world traditions, Gio has dedicated the past years to recording ceremonial and traditional sounds from around the world and more specifically the Middle East. Now, some of the world's brightest talents, including some new and emerging artists, took these recordings and created their own versions inspired by these sounds. All proceeds of this album will be donated to Musicians Without Borders, an NGO providing children in areas of conflict with musical education. You can find artists from all over the globe contributing music to raise money for this cause.
