Aeons ago, mysterious cryptic transmissions were sent from Alpha Cutauri. A team of subversive cyantists from Leipzig were finally able to decipher a new chapter onto polyvinyl chloride.
Examiner LUI came up with rave-o-lutionary methods which have been executed at the low frequency laboratory of doctor Demegy. Finally a secret gold dust ingredient was added to the audio code and it was pressed successfully as the tenth disc on LXC's record label. Flying high at the top spot for such high resolution sound objects.
It is proudly released to the public under the name of Raumwerk EP, holding various uptempo BPM while keeping up sparseness and depth. Some pieces are served straight to the point with pure Drum'n'Bass, others are spiced up with Autonomic cheese flavour one simply can't resist.

Klaustrophon opens wilful and vivid by diving deep into the imaginary space version of a syncopathic Mariana Trench, exploring jittering light beams of plasma clouds inside the frontal lobe.
Stolpergeist spins a yarn about a dramatically failed experimental lifeform, half liquid, half solid rock. Slurp by slurp it was able to escape and still slumps its way through the jellaxy slipping happily even after.
Flächenromantik was field-recorded on a slow-motion moon witnessing solar flares of an innumerable multi-sun solar system. Every bar holds one warm and light autonomic sunset, really romantic synth pads, fluffy bass and a beat like Swiss clockwork, so that every click turns into a microfunky eclipse.
Synthoskop is an astronomic showdown on a stone-cold paddock pond. A fascinating piece documenting the skweeekings during impassioned mating of three Cutaurian Gurglers. Rave long and proper!

hree years after their first collaboration, culminating in the release of “The Passenger”, Om Unit and Martyn are back on 3024 with another four track exploration of tempo and vibrations on a new EP called “AJ^6”.

The two ‘veteran’ producers have been highly prolific over the past years, with Om Unit making waves with his massive Acid Dub Studies project as well as new work under his Philip D. Kick alias, and Martyn spearheading and mentoring a robust group of new musicians responsible for no less than five (!) compilations on 3024. What brings the two producers together in the studio once again is the constant hunger for new and interesting sounds on the outer rim of the ‘bass continuum’. Instead of tirelessly rehashing old tropes they are continuously inspired to write new music that’s both current as well as firmly in their aesthetic profile.

‘Basilisk’ and ‘The Trenches’ are great examples of the duo blending odd tempos with dub wise heaviness. ‘Basilisk’ has already been doing some serious damage on the dance floor with its punchy 107 beat structure and headzy breakdown, while the almost imperial march of ‘The Trenches’ introduces a bubbly bass line. ‘Illroy’ and ‘Dragonfly’ both inhabit a dreamier, more melodic universe and have a timeless, ambivalent quality to them, somewhere between a lost b-side of an early 00s Hospital Records release and something on Scuffed. Martyn X Om Unit - The Trenches (3024-OMM2)

Leaning in on his authoritative take on the dubwise soundsystem tradition, Dubrunner kicks off 2023 with a heavyweight four-track salvo on his own Menace label. Building on the seismic impact of his Spirit / Pursuit drop for Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce label in 2022, Dubrunner’s honed and upfront sound draws on the best qualities of deep-rooted UK steppas, breakbeat and modern bass music.

The Ruthless EP kicks off with the militant stomp of the Iration-nodding title-track, paying homage to the great tradition of UK soundsystem music while giving the sound a modernist slant. The deadly roll and acidic uneasiness of ‘Nemesis’ follows in a deft fusion of breaks groove and atmospheric sound design. Linking up with Sourpuss for ‘Ruff’, Dubrunner explores the crooked 4/4 structure of UK Funky and the shimmering textures of dub techno for a heads-down, immersive workout. Demonstrating the ease with which he flexes across styles, ‘Goes To Outlaws Once’ finds Dubrunner slipping into the low-tempo, chugging headspace you’ll typically hear pumping out at iconic Leeds party spot the Outlaws Yacht Club.
